British tabloid The Daily Mirror claims that Manchester City are set to sign Barcelona right wing attacker and Mexican international Giovani Dos Santos (18).
The report doesn't make clear if he would leave on a loan deal or on a permanent deal but since it is stated that Barcelona wants Giovani to gain first-team experience, it can be thought that it concerns a loan deal (read more here). Barcelona would value the Mexican forward at 25 million euro ° and the player is under contract at Barcelona until 2010.

Let him stay, perfect back-up for Messi!!
Its stupid to let him go, even on loan
With the coach of Barca's B team having more of an input (whether that is manager or assistant) next year, I doubt that any of Barcelona's raising stars are going anywhere. I would not make sense to put him on loan to a team like Man City with only two years left on his contract and with him making frequent appearances in the FCB's first team on the wing and in midfield. So, with Gai Assulin and Thiago Alcantara set to be in the first team next season, I would expect Dos Santos to remain at Barca as he certainly has the ability to be help Barcelona win trophies.
I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to a loan if it will provide Gio with the requesite playing time he needs to further his development. He also has a lot of maturing to do as a person (but then that is to be expected of a youth). But I believe playing in what I consider a more "physical" Premier League might actually "harden" him a bit and bring out more of the competitive juices.
