Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona is looking to bring in Sevilla defensive midfielder and Malian international Seydou Keita (28). Also followed by Juventus, Keita could be an alternative for the transfer of his team-mate Christian Poulsen (read more here). Keita would have a buyout clause of 14 million euro°, something that is being kept secret by Sevilla to not attract interested clubs.
Keita, who came to Sevilla last summer and whose contract expires in 2011, has adapted very quick to the Liga and has become in no time a key player at Sevilla. The midfielder has impressed with his strength and his attacking and scoring qualities. The Malian player, who also has a French passport, could become the back-up of Barcelona defensive midfielder Yaya Touré, but has also qualities that would allow him to play higher up the pitch.
