I have a BAAAAAD feeling about this :-S

Boring (and difficult) group. Dynamo and Rubin, two difficult away games in freezing temperatures, don't like it.

which opponent will we face when?

Why, top two teams advance... I'm sure well b fine?

only prob will be the low temp...!!

The dude who was picking the group balls.. when Inter came up, he had is eyes on the group F ball all the time.. and SURPRICE! But I don't mind, that's propably the most interesting matchup you could imagine at this stage, looking forward to see Ibra vs. Eto'o!
On the other two I'm not happy at all, eastern european clubs are always tough at their home and they often use very dirty tactics to get that one point even if it costs the knees and ankles of the opponent's star players.

we are going to see ibra vs eto'o, the match will be interesting...

Sensing this post is going to be hot!!

Better to get it with Inter in the group stages tho. The question is who is our potential opponents in group E in the 1/4 final stage.

Not being cocky but I think Barca and Inter have the edge over the other two, cold temp or not.

El Fuego said...

Inter- YES

Ibra and Maxwell against Inter
Eto against us

lol

My bad, not 1/4 final but last 16 stage.

we're fucked up, this group is too hard. There is no way we are making it to the last sixteen. Forget about the CL.

Anonymous said...

yeah hard... for the other three to face the treble champion. dont act like an elementary school girl, it's pathetic.

ElBananero said...

Why are everybody so god damn scarred of the teams we will face.
We are Barca, bitch! and we will kill them other teams. Come on, if we were able to kill Chelsea, munich and man utd then we'll kill these.

creus said...

Wow. That's about as boring as it gets.. Two freezing cold away games in Russia and Ukraine, plus boring Inter.

The only thing I'm really looking forward too in this groupstage is the return of Eto'o to Camp Nou.

Martin Engelin said...

OMG I really hoped for Inter in our group :D That will be some match. Inter will be awesome with Eto'o in the team. Amagine Eto'o and Milito, they will play great together. Hopefully it'll be two really good games :D

MohamedH said...

i like the Barca-Inter and the AC-Real match up... Hope Barca and AC destroy their opponents

Unknown said...

MohamedH

Don't agree with you 50%, i hope we destroy Inter but not Ac to destroy Real, let us (BARCA) destroy them in the Final at their own back yeard and by 6-2 just imagine that. It would be the greatest day in History!!!!!! regardless of which topic

Good group. Can't complain.
Eastern Europe will be difficult, but we'll get on top. Inter and Barça will qualify for the next stage without major problems.
My only concern is the health of the Barça players, Eastern European clubs can be quite dirty on the pitch.

fcbee said...

Don't forget that winning the group is key, because it allows us to play the second game at home in the 1/8 finals.

In that perspective it could not be the best thing to have the most difficult team from pot 2.

John G said...

While it is true that the group has good teams, believe me that we will emerge on top of this group. We are the strongest team in the group. If anything I expect Inter to choke. Realistically though Barca and Inter will make it to the round of 16. Dynamo Kiev was crap last year and Rubin is untested.

Man if you want to be a champ win it all-kill them all:). Dont be a pussy... With messi, xavi, iniesta, ibra, alves, piqe, henry, yaya and others....you have worries-wake up.

Visca el Barca!!!

Games against Inter will be very interesting...Eto'o in Inter and Zlatan in Barca...those Eastern Europe matches are tough but I think we can handle them quite well

Ronnierulez said...

Important that we remember 2006-07 when we faltered to 2nd in the grp stages and then choked against liverpool - while we cud yet again face pool in the round of 16. And why are ppl scared of Inter so much, barca's problems can only come from a team with a packed and yet strong midfield - while Inter has physical players in the midfield, they r not skillful. Of course all this assuming our midfield remains free of injuries.

WOW , Inter on 24th november and then Madrid on 29th november, Thats gonna be a fuckin action packed helluva week ^^.

On topic , I do expect us to come out on top , even though its a pretty tough group. But im just glad we really avoided Bordeaux and Wolfsburg from pot 3 and pot 4 respectively. Now if we woulda drawn them , then we would haev something to worry about. Have faith in our team guys :)

Teams will give 110% against us , but with PEP abosultely never getting complacent , we shouldn have problems. We are BARCAA !!!!

Anonymous said...

Inter added Sneijder so they're a little more skillful now...

Inter is a really tough but fun game! It's never easy to travel to Ukraine and we got to know that last season when we escaped with a win, barely!

Kazan.... We have to travel 3738 kilometers! That's really, really far! It's gonna be a extremely tough game for anyone that have to travel there.

Thanks for the dates of Inter's games, I love B and B. If that info is reliable, by deduction we must be team 3, Inter 2, Rubin 1 and Kiev 4, which would be bad, because we'd get both Eastern European teams when it's cold (according to a thing I saw online about how the fixture's are done):
1) 16.09 Inter (away)
2) 29.09 Kiev (home)
3) 20.10 Rubin (home)
4) 04.11 Rubin (away)
5) 24.11 Inter (home)
6) 09.12 Kiev (away)

At least it means that if we get a good start with a win over Inter away, we might end up being able to send a B team to Kiev in December. I wouldn't like even top spot to be on the line in a game like that.

We should wait for fixture confirmation, but at least we know that Dima will have a role in this year's CL, even if it is just as a consultant about Eastern European teams.

I don't remember... is there a draw for the 1/8? or we know who our potential rivals are?

koko=barca said...

Pep where is my post??? I wasn't cruel, Uefa is a mob they proved that tonight. Money is all they care. Inter and Barca, Real and Milan hahaha so predictable

Julian said...

Koko, I understand your cynicism about football and money, but if Platini really controlled the draw do you really think he would have given such easy draws to the English teams and put Inter and Madrid against Barca and AC?!? I don't think so somehow.

Pep (if you're not too busy), where did you get the dates from? The wikipedia entry is showing a completely different fixture. I was looking to see who Madrid play the week before they come for the classico.

Ba-Beka said...

Good Group , i can see 5 Wins and 1 Draw against Inter in Milano , so the rest of them are all Wining matches , so guys stop panicking there is no chance for RUBIN or DINAMO to get one point from Barca , total outsiders .

HeyRube said...

Dirty! This is a nasty draw no matter what team has it. I just hope we win the first three matches so we don't have to play all the starters in the last couple of away matches. Ukraine and Russia in november and december spells injury's, especially against dynamo. I knew it wouldn't be an easy draw when I saw that ignorant madridista drawing the group balls.

Do you really think it is a coincidence??? We against Inter and Real - Milan. This is a set up and I am surprised nobody says anithing

groga said...

Don't act childish, koko. A few years ago we played Chelsea in the group stage, that was probably also arranger to protect EPL teams.

Julian said...

Thanks pep, you're a star.

So, it looks like Madrid have a soft game against Zurich before their trip to the Camp Nou. Not that a lighter schedule helped them last time. That's probably our biggest game of the year. Hopefully we can get on a good run of form against top teams like both tough bits of last year's fixture. Can't wait.

Kxevin said...

You socis here should know that match tix for us go on sale 2 September at 10 a.m. BCN time. If possible, I'm going to hit the Inter and Clasico matches.

Last year, I did Valencia (Henry's night) and Shakhtar (the kids in a meaningless encounter) matches.

yuti said...

Awkward draw. One Soviet team, you can expect that every now and then but two. Pffff... Bit boring in these grey, cold stadiums (starting always earlier because of the time difference) and even at home there's mostly not much to it.

barcagirl said...

omg! think about the mind games of Jose,I can't wait to hear what Pep is going to say.

Anonymous said...

the draws are bullsh!t.
Why do shit madrid, Man U and especially Arsenal always get easy opponents and Barca always the worst?
i don't doubt that madrid "donated" some money for the draw

Kxevin said...

We had an easy group last year. Shakhtar was the only club capable of giving us any trouble, but we were better than they were, losing at home only because Guardiola rolled out the kids and even then, we were in the match. But we were in with Sporting, Shakhtar and Basel, which allowed us to play it canny, kick ass early, then coast.

And Wolfsburg will be a difficult side, and CSKA is always tough, so United will have to work for it. Chelsea won't have an easy road, nor will Liverpool.

But yes, Arsenal is having cake during their matches. But so is Sevilla.

Ono said...

Nice draw, Im satisfied.
If we finish first and destroy Inter (which I believe will happen because of their CL form over the years) we will send a strong message to everyone else.
If we dont do that, its okay. There will be less expectations all around.

I mean, we are surely through, it's only how we display ourselves.

Chemik PL said...

Guys, don't underestimate Rubin, CSKA is a good team and they are 7 points behind Rubin after 2/3 of the season...
I think we'll finish first in this group, but nothing's sure...
