Manchester City will come after Henry in January

Asked about the transfer prospects of his club, Sulaiman Al-Fahim, a board member of the Abu Dhabi United Group, the new owners of English Premier League club Manchester City, has said in an interview with British newspaper The Guardian that his club is interested in Barcelona forward and French international Thierry Henry (31) and could come after the player in the January transfer window:

"I just wish we could have done the takeover earlier to give us more time to spend but unfortunately I was on vacation travelling across Europe when the proposition reached me. Thierry Henry and Brazil's Ronaldo can add the confidence and the experience and provide the mix with the younger players. These are the kind of players we are looking for. And we have deep pockets. Money is not a worry to my board. The aim is to make City the best team in the Premier League."

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Manchester City will closely monitor the performances of Henry until the end of the year, planning to make him by that time an offer the Frenchman cannot refuse. If Henry cannot raise his level in the coming months, Barcelona would be willing to listen to offers.

My god, why did they only take over City one day before the end of the transfer period. I'm sure Henry would be gone already.

And although I like Henry very much as a person (and as an Arsenal player), he's just not suited for us and even less looking at his wage. Best deal for everyone will be letting him go.

Yes please come and take him from our arms so then we can buy a real left winger.

If we aren't going to use him properly, we should sell him. It's best for everyone. Then people can find someone else to hate.

I'm sure Henry would welcome being back in the Prem and closer to his daughter. He'd also welcome being off of left wing, a position he's never been very good at.

It just seems too good to be true. I honestly think for all parties this could be a good thing.

Hope it is true and please take Guddy with too!!!

Although i hate rich people buying clubs and investing tons of money i kind of like these arabs. It will be a fresh wing in english football and the premiership have been so boring since, eh, the start? Now we will have another team besides Chelsea/United in a couple of years.

The moment I heard about the new boar buying Man city, I imagined how perfect it would be if at the last moment of transfer period, they buy henry and gudi, while barcelona buy crespo and capel in return, but I knew thats too good to be true!
It obvious barcelona will not use henry where he achieve, and he will not achieve where they want to play him, so let that delamina come to end, he is 31 years old, and its better to c him having some few more years of glory before its too late!

by the way i am more intersted to c man city causing a head ache for madrid snapping villa from valencia!

Now we know that someone wants and can afford to have him. Though he have til Dec to prove himself, I guess it's gonna be the same. He's simply not suits Barca playstyle or atleast not a Barca's natural left winger. Grab the money from Man. City and sign the most needed player.

i think this would probably be the best move for everyone, henry isnt a LW and so isnt going to appease hs doubters, especially as he is filling ronaldinhos shoes. but its a mark of the man that he scored 17 goals and gave 20 assists playing out of position in a new club and still be called a failure! he's a true legend and i was proud to see him in blaugrana colours.
as for city, 'our pockets are deep', 20-25 mil then please! also we should put messi's buyout clause to 150+. these crazy bastards are willing to spend 120 mil on a faggot like ronaldo, and they want cesc and torres! i would say their becoming a lauging stock but i think they might be serious.

They beat Chelsea for Robinho. Guess that hurts, Roman...

Now you see that even someone like Abramovich realizes one day there are limit to the spending. With those new Man City guys it will be the same. They will come and go. If UEFA doesn't act, it will just be like that.

The best part of this is that those arabs will probably overvalue the hell out of Henry.

Correct me if I'm wrong but even if Manchester City made a bid for Henry and Barcelona accepted it wouldn't Henry have to consent to the move as well? I know a similar scenario occured earlier this summer when Chelsea offered to buy out Sergio Aguero's buyout clause but Aguero made it known he didn't want to join Chelsea, thus blocking the move.

I agree with Kxevin if Henry isn't going to be used properly I would sell him. Unlike most of you I could care less about the money Barcelona would get back in return, I just want to see Henry happy and having a fitting end to his career, playing the position he was meant to play.

I also believe this was to be Henry's final season at Barcelona anyways, even with another year left on his contract. Man City may make a move for him, but knowing he's only got a year left on his contract I don't expect them to offer anywhere near the ridiculous amount of money they gave Robinho. Barcelona will be lucky to get 20mil for him in my opinion. And if they can break even in the deal I'd consider it a miracle.

get rid off him hes terrible also get rid of abidal

How much are we paying Man City ?!!!

you guys have to have more faith and give more chances to henry, he was like the eto for arsenal, theres two things barca can do

either barca change there style and have eto and henry play up front (thats what you call a world class forward and it'd be smart for them to do it because they wouldnt be able to sell him now

OR sell him by january (but that means we'll have to do some forward shopping again)my guesses is that he'll come to america as hinted, but dont say henry sucks he has quality
