Barcelona would consider offer for Henry

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona would be ready to seriously consider an offer for Barcelona centre forward and French international Thierry Henry (30).

If Manchester United would make a first bid of 20 million euro° like was rumoured yesterday (read more here), a fee that after negotiations could come close to what Barcelona paid for the Frenchman one year ago, this could well be an affer Barcelona cannot refuse.

Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola is likely to understand the position of the club and could fall back on Eto'o, Bojan and a third guy to brought in with the henry money for the centre forward spot.

The main obstacle for a move of Henry back to England could in the end well be the player who should weigh his loyalty towards his former club Arsenal against the offer of the Champions League winners and the personal interest of their manager Alex Ferguson.

This would be too good to be true. I highly doubt it will happen, given the rivalry of Arsenal and Man U. I don't think Arsenal supporters would ever forgive Henry for this. I know I wouldn't if Messi left for Real.

The deal itself, however, is terrific. Keep Eto'o, Sell Henry and buy either Aguerro or Benzema next summer if not this summer.

Forget it. Henry would NEVER play for Man U. Sport is about as reliable as tribalfootball.com. Besides, we still don't know what he can do for us.

There's a very interesting statistical analysis here:

Benzema will be available summer after this one, if we know the shrewd Aulas over at Lyon.

Aguero is a very expensive midget. I know people like him, and I might too at about 20 million. The price on his little head is closer to 50 million.

I would agree with Kxevin, finding it highly unlikely that Henry would ever suit up for Man U. Sure, players such as Figo have done so before, going from Barcelona to Madrid, but keep in mind that Figo was already an established star - not like Henry who developed into stardom during his time at Arsenal. In a recent poll Henry was voted as the greatest Gunner ever!

Even if Barcelona agreed to a deal, if Henry was a man of character and principle he would steadfastly object to such a move.

Yeah me three I agree with Kxevin and Cojonudo, I would be more likely to play for ManU than Henry,
I have a feeling despite what everyone is saying Barca won't sign or sell anyone else, not that they don't want to I'm finding it hard to believe Barca can offload Eto'o with his high wage demands acting as a stumbling block. Furthermore Barca can't get into a bidding war to land Silva. There is a slight chance Arshavin might join if he convinces Zeint to lower their asking price.
But then again this is purely a gut feeling

Saha is leaving Man United then if Man Utd do not sign Berba, they will sign Henry.I say sell Henry and bring D.villa who can play both as central attacker and in ronaldinho's position. What do u think guys ?

Didn't Henry once say if he were ever to go back to the EPL, he would only go back to Arsenal? but don't quote me on this haha

If Henry joins Manchester United I can assure you the minute he sets foot at the Emirates some Gunner fanatic is going to rightly put a bullet through his head!

Such a move would be considered unimaginable and unforgivable in the eyes of Gunners fans. As one of the comments above mentioned, imagine how you would feel if Messi bolted Barcelona for Real Madrid? Consider that Messi's career is only at it's infancy at Barcelona, yet Henry played eight years at Arsenal! If you can't stomach Messi leaving now, imagine accepting him leaving in a few years time as he's about to enter the prime of his career!

As far as Villa goes I think Pep's already mentioned that his game mirrors Bojan's and thus wouldn't necessarily bring anything new, (i.e. another dimension) to the team. Those are Pep's words not mine. Besides, unless Valencia drastically reduce their asking price I don't see Barcelona, let alone anyone splashing 40mil on him.

maybe lyon would be interested in Henry. He wont go to manure.
