Transfer of Hernanes less likely

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that the transfer of São Paulo attacking midfielder and Brazilian international Hernanes (23) is getting more and more unlikely.

With the Brazilian club having rejected a 15 million euro° offer and holding on to the buyout fee of 25 million euro° (read more here), the difference between the two clubs stays too big and none of them seems ready to move. The probable transfer of Arsenal player Alexander Hleb will have as a consequence that Barcelona doesn't really need to buy the Brazilian midfielder anymore.

Brazilian sports marketing agency Traffic, that represents Hernanes and ownes a small part of his transfer rights, nevertheless thinks that the case is not yet closed and that Hernanes, who already has a personal pre-agreement with Barcelona (read more here), could still sign with Barcelona later this summer.

I like Hernanes. And I think Barca can still buy Hernanes Because Hleb can play Left wing striker instead and so Hernanes can play attacking Midfeild. But if there's a choice of Barca purchasing Silva instead, I would go for Silva. By the way, there is always a choice of getting Thiago Neves.

There is a difference between 'can' playing in a position and 'able' to play there.

Hleb as an winger forward would be a joke.

Hernanes is the one who now has to push for a transfer. Now way Barcelona should raise their 15 millions bid. It's more than enough.

Letter from Hernanes to Sao Paulo.

7/12/2008

Dear Sao Pualo,
I just wanted to take the time to thank you for destroying my career as well as shattering my hopes and dreams of fulfilling all the goals I had set forth for my career. While I understand that business is business and that you have every right to refuse any offer you don't deem as acceptable - I am saddened that you refused to negociate in good faith with Barcelona. I feel I have served the club with honor and have nothing left to give Sao Paulo. I wish you would have respected my wishes and had the foresight to see that by continuing to hold onto me you would be further hindering my development as a player and not allowing me the opportunity to reach my full potential. I clearly see now that you viewed me only as an "asset" to the club and not as a person. Barcelona is like a ship in the night that may come along only once in a player's career. Now that ship has sailed and I may never get that opportunity again! Thanks to you I can now look forward to a future of playing indoor soccer in the United States. I can hardly wait!

Sincerely,

Anderson Hernanes de Carvalho Andrade Lima

That letter is very funny. Sao Paulo is being difficult because they think that they have a commodity. Now that we have Hleb, they don't any longer. It might still happen, but we'll have to hang up the phone and tell them to choke on Hernanes. They will then realize that 15 million is better than nothing, for a player that wants to leave, is ready to leave, and might have performances that reflect that reality.

Is that letter real? Where did you read it?

No, the letter isn't real. It's a very humorous bit of fiction.

Why do spanish clubs think that a club should automatically except what they think is how much a players worth. A player is worth how much someone is willing to pay and if you dont like it dont buy him! All this talk about a player pushing for a move and you unsettling players to push down transfer fees is disgracful

Barca is indeed like a ship, but it is a sinking ship with all the rats jumping from it like Etoo, Deco, Ronaldinho and Giovani. Look how you ruined the career of one of the best players of his generation in Ronaldinho who has turned into a fat, lazy party animal who is now reduced to greedy mercenary. As a Brasilian I wish that he'd of joined Manchester all those years ago atleast they would of kept him inshape and inform.

YOu can't blame the club for Ronalinho's party behviour. Only the player (and his entourage) is to blame. They all should have taken their responsibility, but they didn't.

Lets be realistic about this transfer talk, majority of players that come from Brazil their transfer fee doesn't usually go over 15 mil unless the club purchasing for them pays the buyout clause which seems Sao Paolo wants to happen but then again it's up to the club to decide what they think is best and i sorry he won't be able to come to Barcelona because most likely now with the transfer of Hleb Barca wouldn't want him anymore but I would still like to see him in the blaugrana colors this season.
