Gudjohnsen option as centre forward

Asked about the further transfer intentions for the rest of the summer, Barcelona economic vice president Ferran Soriano seemed to suggest in an interview with Catalan radio station RAC 1 yesterday that Barcelona attacker and Iceland international Eidur Gudjohnsen (29) is again an option for the centre forward position:

"There are two or three more transfers left. We intend to sign a player for the left wing and a centre forward. Although for that position we could stick with Henry and Bojan. A third centre forward can be brought in if Gudjohnsen, who also has options, leaves."

how about a skillfull MC??? we are lack in the midfield!! there are: Iniesta,Xavi,Keita and Toure. We need on more skillfull player to be replace for Iniesta or Xavi. I think Hernanes are ideal solution. For me the squad for the next season shld look like this:
Valdes-Alves, Puyol, Caceres, Abidal- Toure,Iniesta,Xavi-Silva,Messi,Henry

Oh come on, I'm so sick of those wiseacres who feel cool to bash my beloved Barcelona players.

Xavi was voted player of the Euro 2008 and you think he needs to be replaced? That's just bullocks!

He probably meant that we need back-ups for Xavi and Iniesta.

Who knows what will happen now if Laporta steps down. Everything could be thrown into dissaray. Personally I think it would be best for "Guddys" career if he returned to the EPL. But barring receiving 5-6mil for him, he should stay. I don't believe in just giving him away for free. And who's to say that he may figure a bit more prominently in Guardiola's plans than he did under Rijkaard?

Gudjohnsen is not cut out for La Liga. He's not fast enough, nor are his ball skills adequate. My nickname for him is the Icelandic Monument.

But, with a paralyzed board, looks like we're done in the transfer market.

I must say that I don't think Gudjohnson really fits with Liga but over the past two seasons he sure has gotten better. But thats just what I think.

He was phenomenal at Chelsea. Now every time he plays, it's like "meh".

I agree with all of you that Gudjohnsen is not La Liga caliber..BUT everytime Gudjohnsen comes on the field, I cheer like a madman..and i have no reason why haha

I used and still am a fan of Gudjohnsen in that I feel for him, and always hope he scores because he looks like a confidence player, for the price, he's not worth selling, I think Gudjohnsen should stay one more season, because I think he'd be content with a utility role, the only problem with Gudjohsen is that he tends to avoid the ball, has very weak marking, but I dont doubt that with regular appearances, he could the Henrik Larsson that Pep's looking for.

If he's not going, this might be a good choice.

barca must sell guddy for a better price and at the meantime push very hard to get villa or another very sharp center attacker who can deliver the goals...maybe ibrahimovic???
