Given that we'll keep on playing 4-3-3, that Messi will play on the right and Eto'o in the centre and that we cannot sign any new players until January: which player of the current squad should play on the left wing?

Difficult choice, none of them really convinces me. I think it is between Hleb and Pedro for me.

Hleb or Iniesta. no one else deffinitly

For me Bojan is #1 for AML! He can dribble, he is fast and more accurate than Henry! I think Iniesta is far more better when he play on his position. Pedro maybe will be good for back up, andI think Hleb hasnt that speed or explosive runs into oposition box like Bojan. Bojan maybe is too young to play full season on the left wing but for me he is #1. Visca el Barca!!

For me its Henry!!!
he still has a lot of football in him. There is no way I want to see Iniesta and Xavi in the game at the same time except if we are three goals up and we want to kill the game. Bojan's time will come

Iniesta is the best alternative IMO: he is quite fast, good on one-on-ones, a good passer and i think that he's actually a better goal scorer than anyone else available (exept for Henry). Hleb is his back-up. Henry and Bojan will have to fight for the back-up-position in centre. I think we should try to get rid of Henry if he does'nt start getting better soon...the guy seems so bleek and tired. I hope he gets is thumbs out of his ass and start to deliver. Otherwise it's bye, bye, Henry! Bon voyage!

i think Hleb should be playing on that position.he is best dribller in team after Messi...

I think you should put the player with the best crosses on the left side.

why should we play 4-3-3.We have been caught out with this formation for last two years.and we dont have players to play this system.

we should play 4-2-3-1 for away games
valdes
dani-puyol-marques(caceres)-abidal
toure-keita
messi -xavi- iniesta
eto'o

we should play 4-4-1-1 for home games

valdes
dani-puyol-marquez(caceres)-abidal
hleb - toure-xavi- iniesta
messi
eto'o

Interesting view Ali. And I do agree. Barça has been playin this system for way to long. opponents always know what to expect an I believe in putting players on their best position. Iniesta for example could doo wel as left winger, but is better central. As we don't have a natural left winger (besides Pedro, who is a bit to young for full responsibility) I would seriously consider a new system. The 4-2-3-1 you propose has the big advantadge that you use the qualities of Alves and Abidal alloing them to move more up the wing. I think Guardiola should consider really consider this. Or is the 4-3-3 holy?

Anyone who would score more than Henry did last season!!! cos people are saying play the guy with the best crosses on the left but the guy who left (R10) wasnt noted for his crosses but his skills and goals and no one in that team can score more than Henry from thet wing. I will stick with Titi-14. God bless Henry. But next year we might need to replace him. I love and adore HENRY. All you henry haters, back off. Play Sammy, Villa, Torres, Benzema as a left winger and see how many goals they would get you. Henry has sacrifice for FCB. He would have score more playing the role he played at Arsenal. enuff said

We should buy Di Maria in January, that would be a perfect choice. Because we lack a left-footed player on this position. Henry is going to much to the middle and our wing play is then zero. Hleb is good but on the right side.

noubarca i agree with you. i believe in henry, he's determined to show his best again this season and to win titles with barca. i'm sure he will do everything not to be considered a failure when his chapter ends here in barcelona. besides, he definetely is much more dangerous in front of goal or also with longyard shot than anyone else we have for that position.
from what i've seen, he hasn't doing that bad on the left wing given that he naturally is a centre forward. he's always beating a guy and then either coming to the inside and taking a shot or going towards the near post and then giving it back.

i think ideally eto'o and henry would constantly be switching positions. with their speed, their intelligence and goal scorer qualities they should be able to crack every defense. imagine that plus messi...
hleb would be my first back-up for both wings and will probably be coming on regularly as a sub as well as bojan. iniesta is not a left wing and very awkward in front of goal(@bogman) and pedro will have to wait i guess. his chances will come though as well as jeffrens...

i chose hleb, can someone tell me why xavi was never considered in that position???? and they SHOULD change their formation something like this

valdes
dani alves puyol marquez abidal

xavi iniesta

messi hleb

eto'o henry

this is good because it gives the players more versatality, xavi, iniesta and hleb, and then of course keita and yaya toure

^^^^^^^ that being the 4-2-2-2 formation messi and hleb on the wings

@ last anonymous, if we play this ur 4-2-2-4 formation without Yaya or Marques or Keita infront of our back four, we would concede BUCKET LOADS of goals. So it WOULD NOT WORK!!!

And I am stillwaiting for guys to gimme names of the players who would score 19 and 15 assists from that LF position. enuff said
