Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Arsenal midfielder and Spanish international Cesc Fàbregas (21) has rejected an offer by former Real Madrid president Florention Pérez, who is expected to be a candidate in the Madrid elections later this year.
Pérez would have sounded out Cesc about joining Real Madrid in the summer but had to take the Catalan midfielder off his wish list. The player would have made clear that his dream is to play for Barcelona and that he is willing to join Barcelona for a lower salary than what he would be offered by Pérez.
Former Barcelona sports vice-president Sandro Rosell, who confirmed last year that he will be a candidate in the Barcelona presidential elections in 2010, would meanwhile be working on Cesc's return to Barcelona.

barca youth player comes from the heart of the club. how could he ever move to madrid.
i like him but i think there no place in midfield for him
Great player but I'm not sure is even close to being ready to replace Xavi. And people should stop saying our midfield should be: Iniesta----Xavi----Cesc
because without a DM, we will be torn apart. Just look at Arsenal. Anyways, we should still buy Cesc because at least we will have a great replacement if xavi gets injured. Right now, we need replacements for the right back, keft back, goalie, and a winger who plays on both wings and another Creative Midfielder. Right now, we have people who can cover for all the positions besides Creative Midfielder. If xavi gets injured, who will cover as the creative mid? Hleb? Toure?? Anyways, our mid looks confident when we play Toure, Busquets and Keita. We used it against Atletico in the Copa Del Rey and against Mallorca.
good cesc =D
maybe we can use him next year as Henry leaves.. or midfield can be:
Cesc--Xavi
Sergio.B
With Iniesta on the left wing or as attacking midfielder in the center..with Etoo & Messi as forwards
Like what E said, it would only work if Henry leaves (I hope not) and if we push Iniesta to LW.
Why does Cesc have to come next season? I also don't see the logic in him coming and Henry leaving?? They are both completely different players. In any event the LAM should be the priority. I would rather see Ribery come next season and Cesc the following season. By this stage he could assume Xavi's role with Bousquets and Iniesta in the other two midfield positions interchanging with Troure.
This is my team for next season.
Att: Eto'o
Ribery Messi
Mid: Xavi Iniesta
Troure
Def:
Abidal / Lahm Puyol Pique Alves
Valdes
Sub: Henry
Bojan
Bousquets
Asenjo
L/B not playing
Gai or Marquez / CB
Pedro or other youth
