Italian club AS Roma has denied in an official statement that the club has made an offer for Barcelona forward and Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o (27) like had been reported this morning (read more here):
"Regarding the news that was spread today about a presumed offer made to FC Barcelona concerning the transfer of the player Samuel Eto'o, AS Roma wants to make clear that it never made such an offer. Therefore this report, including the financial data, does not have to be considered accurate and is unfounded."
Asked about the rumours, Roma manager Luciano Spaletti had said earlier today at a press conference that Roma simply couldn't afford this transfer: "I mentioned the name before and I have requested for him and Zambrotta. They are both great players but it's just not possible since their salaries are out of our reach. The Eto'o story is not true."

looks better and better everyday, like he's gonna stay!!! I hope he does!!! the only person id want to get if we sell eto'o is robinho and that wont happen so keep eto'o please!!!
Pep, do you have any clue what happened to Gai Assulin? It seems he's not returned to Barca B yet. I'm getting nervous.. Is he recruited by the Israel Army or what??
Yes!!! I hope he'll stay a long long time. To be honest, no club would accept his wage demands of 8-10M per year. That's why he's probably staying. It's getting worse for Guardiola every day, but Eto'o will prove once again to these Barca morons that he's worth staying.
On Gai: he's already back for a little two weeks. Now he just had some minor injuries, nothing to worry about.
Good to know.. Thanks Pep!
Looks like it's going to be "Chelsea or bust" for Eto'o since they seem as the only team that can afford such a transfer and satisfy Eto'o's wage demands in the process.
Looks like it's going to be "Eto'o or bust" for us since the few guys that maybe could come close to his record aren't on the market.
