Meeting with Juventus on Trezeguet tomorrow

Italian sports site Sportmediaset claims that Barcelona and Juventus will hold talks on Juventus forward David Trezeguet (30) tomorrow when Barcelona will travel to Italy to play a pre-season friendly against Fiorentina.

Barcelona would be ready to make a 20 million euro° bid for the French striker but Juventus is still in doubt. While on the one hand the Italians want Trezeguet to be part of the team in their return to the Champions League this season, the money could on the other hand well be used to transfer Roma midfielder Aquilani.

I think Trezeguet's agent is just pushing this story. Difficult to believe that Barcelona would be serious about this.

Barca are in a no-win situation. Having gone two years without any silverware the fans and the media are starting to get ansy. So Barca are taking a quick "fix", short term approach to this, instead of looking further down the road.

With the possibility of having two "30-somethings" strikers on the club, it would surely signal that Barcelona are in a "win now" mode. Even if their plan pans out, they will still have to spend a considerable amount of money in a couple of years time to replace TWO strikers not one. Even if we are to assume that by that time Bojan "comes of age" he will still need a foil, and a backup off the bench to boot.

But what is Barca to do? If they aren't showing they are doing everything they can to turn things around now the media will only continue to crucify them. And with the fans already up in arms, it won't take much for them to begin asking for Pep's head on a stick should Barca get off to a slow start. It seems the word "patience" is non existant at Camp Nou.

I thought that Barca give up on him due to his age. Gooooooood, he'll get 31 in october and 20M to give for him?? Guardiola must be stupid. Barca board suck! Buy him and say goodbye to trophies.

sell henry, buy trezeguet. this is an intelligent move and wont cost much of anything. Next year sell Trez buy Benzema when hes available. Its barca's annual french striker rotation.

this stories have only come the italian papers havent they? hope it doesn't come true as there are better players out there available for just a little bit more. you never know if he does come he could end up with 30 plus goals, theres no doubting he is a quality player, it just his age is working against him.
probably won't be popular but i think all this talk of winning silvewrare this season is optamistic, don't get me wrong i'd love them to win everything, but we have new manager who has never managed at this level before, we have a very new team that have to all gel plus there is probably gonna be more board unstability to come. i think what im saying is that we need to be patient and not demand every success in the first season, if we do go and win silverware this year then the future will be very bright for barca indeed but we, and the media, need to give pep time
