Barca B - Medical: Green ligt for Gai

Catalan sports paper Sport reports that Barcelona Atlètic wing attacker and Israel youth international Gai Assulin (17) has been given the green light by Barcelona's medical staff on Wednesday.

Gai damaged the external menicus of his right knee during a training session on Wednesday 14 January and was then expected to be out for four to six weeks (read more
here).

The attacker, who had been training with the group for a while, will now again be able to participate normally in the training sessions. It is nevertheless expected that he won't immediately be available for the team since he will need some more time to gain more fitness and rhythm before he can play.

He is the future to our left wing. Not saying that he will be the first choice, but he has a lot of potential, and in a few years I would doubt him starting.

Is he really that promising? Is he that much better than Pedro or Jeffren? People are talking about him the way they were talking about Messi when he was 16. As much as I would love another Messi, lets be honest, a player like Messi comes once every 10 years.

From what I've seen, he has more potential than Pedro and Jeffren but he's not yet the next Messi (and I'm not sure if he's going to be?). Even though he is fast, and I mean really fast, he still needs to ad some muscles cause' he's still to weak. But if everything turns out like we hope and what his potential is capable off, he will do very good on our left flank in 2 seasons time. But he still got a lot of work to do, and he needs some luck on the way.

When Gai wasn't injured, was he a regular starter for the youth team? If so, did he replace Pedro or Jeffren?
