Youth: Liverpool prepares offer for Deulofeu

British sports site Sky Sports claims that Liverpool are planning a move for Barcelona Cadete A wing attacker and Spanish youth international Gerard Deulofeu (14).

Liverpool scout Paco de Gracia would have recommended the Catalan player to Liverpool manager Rafa Benítez (read more here).

The English Premier League club wants to hold off other interested clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal, and Liverpool would therefore now be ready to firm up their interest in Deulofeu by making an offer for his services.

again with the talentless english clubs snooping around like rabid dogs for OUR talents .
their so talentless that their crowed go crazy each time they see walcott and he's not even english.
he's INDIAN .
sorry about all this anger but evry time an english club comes and sign one of our youth players they claim that they made them (fabrigas - reina - dos santos - merida ....etc ) they really should show some respect.
and as for those players that left , i would never be happy if they returned, unless it's for free cuz their loyalty is't for barca , it's for little green papers with pictures of dead people on them AKA (MONEY)
so i say to liverpool , arsenal , chelsea and man united GO MAKE YOUR OWN TALENTS. THIEVES.

uefa should really stop this.
i can't beleive that platini isn't seeing this .
that's why i never wanted him as uefa pres.

he's got some very quick moves.
I think he could become a very good player.

He kinda looks like Messi on that pic :)

guys, we do the same thing. but mostly the players are younger. we got all the players from other teams, xavi (tarragona, iniesta albacete, messi, dos santos,...)As I recall puyol was already 20 when he came to barcelona athletic. As wel as oleguer, pedro! do you think dos santos is spanish?or messi?? the main difference is we cannot give them professional contract until they are 18. it's a flaw in spanish law! yes i curse them if it happens but it's normal. until spanish law changes we have to hope we can provide them something more like a real chance in the first team..

He said he wanted to stay in spain, liverpool cannot legally offer him a contract at age 14 yet so we have to hope he wants to continue here. Its true we do take players aged 9-12 into our system from other clubs and we were just looking to sign a 13 yr old gk from eastern europe. But here is what he had to say in september

Asked about the rumours linking him with several English Premier League clubs (read more here), Barcelona Cadete A wing attacker Gerard Deulofeu (14) has said to Catalan regional newspaper Diari de Girona that he has no intention to leave Barcelona:

"I prefer not to talk about the rumours because I'm not dealing with that issue. But my dream is to make my debut with Barcelona's first team in the Camp Nou.

I'm playing some six years for Barcelona now and I feel really comfortable here. I got used to travel to Barcelona with a cab every day. Sometimes I'm sharing a cab with other youth players from my region.

Before Ronaldinho was my idol, but now it's Bojan. It's the player I like the most of the current Barcelona squad and for me he's an example to follow since he also came through the youth ranks."

Hopefully seeing a winning first team playing magnificent football and the chance to play with messi in as little as 3 years is enough inspiration for him to stay. This would be a tradgedy if he were to leave. We need to start going to the english academys and taking some of their best young prospects.

@ jordy
it's different
xavi and iniesta went to a better club in order to become a better player.
It's normal you cant begin your carier at barca

and messi searched a club at very young age because nobody wanted him (boca juniors rejected messi)

i hate this a lot, and if they were paying for the players it would be bad but it would be a little better, the mere fact that we put so much time and effort into these players than lose them to free is what annoys me. i really hope platini does something about this unethical activity. and what about pacheco, and merida , are they any better off than if they had stayed in barcelona? not from what i have seen. i accept that we lost iago falque for different reasons , mainly due to lucho not trusting him(yea thanks for that lucho!) but the others, but the others, i hope evey year for the rest of their careers, they regret leaving barcelona.

Well, i dont actually get all of this. First of all he is a barca player right, so we are in a pole position right now. The player knows he is at one of the biggest clubs in the world so it's up to us to cnovince him stay as he is too young ti sign a proffesinal contract, if he wants to leave he will, that's life. Of course we also scout other teams talents thats normal in todays life. I have a feeling that he will stay after all.

He is a fool if he leave.. If he think that by going to liverpool he will get a better chance, that's mean he has no confident to go through to the first team at barca a.k.a not good enough for barca..

So, it's up to him.. He is 14.. so, maybe it's up to his parent.. either way.. Barca >>> liverpool.. what a stupid move for him.. unless like i say above. the clip is too short to judge him.. but if he is good enough, he stay..
