Youth: Chelsea confirms monitoring Deulofeu

Asked about the rumours linking Chelsea with several Barcelona youth players (read more here), Chelsea head scout for Spain and Portugal Juan Cruz Sol has denied in an interview with Catalan sports paper Sport that Chelsea is interested in Barcelona Atlètic attacking midfielder and Spanish youth international Thiago Alcántara (17) or his younger brother, Barcelona Cadete A midfielder and Spanish youth international Rafael "Rafa" Alcántara (15).

Cruz Sol nevertheless confirmed that the English Premier League club is monitoring Barcelona Cadete A wing attacker and Spanish youth international Gerard Deulofeu (14), although a transfer is not an option at this moment: "I saw Deulofeu play and I will keep on following him, but Chelsea didn't talk with him or with Barcelona. Everybody likes Deulofeu but this doens't necessarily means we will sign him.

We know that a lot of clubs are following him. Which is normal because he's a very talented player who can be decisive. Technically he's great and he's very intelligent, although you should always see which progress he will make in the future."

I hope barca doesn't agree on a deal too soon to see if they want to keep him or not. I'd hate to see a great talent leave the camp nou.
