Messi's second goal against Racing Santander yesterday was Barcelona's goal number 5000 in the Spanish league.
"That goal was for all the fans. I didn't know it, they told me afterwards. I had heard about it being close, but I didn't know my second was the one. When you're on the pitch, you don't think about these things. You only think about winning. But I'm very happy to enter the history of the club that way. I will take the ball with me. I won't keep it, that one goes to the museum of the club."

he didn't know that!?
this guy is so innocent
bless him.. very selfless fella.. "I wld take the bal but wnt keep it, it goes to the club museum" some people who dies to keep it..
he is young, i hope he`ll also scores numer 6000!!!!!
Its actuly quite possible!
Given the fact that the time it takes to score yet another 1000 goals seems to decrease (only 2000->3000 stands out with 18 years in between), and the fact that Messi is still a young lad, he might be the guy to score 6000 aswell.
On average, it has taken 16 years, but from 4000 to 5000 it only took 13 years. If this trend continues, the 6000th goal will be scored in about 11-12 years :)
Messi would be around 30-34, so that could be a fitting way for him to end his career then. Go Messi!
A great player to write an history.
