Barcelona central defender Gerard Piqué (22) and Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets (20) have today for the first time been called-up for the Spanish national team.
The two Catalan players were included, along with Barcelona players Puyol, Xavi and Iniesta, in the squad that will face England next Wednesday. Busquets only made his international debut with the Spanish U-21 team a little four months ago (read more here).

YAY. 5 barca players. I remember a time when barca only had 1 or 2. Luis enrique i think was the lone player at one point. Now if only they would give bojan and valdes (as a backup to casillas and reina) a call barca could have 7 players on the spanish national team.
Of course it's nice to see that our players are ranked that high. But I think there is also a backside to it as they get less time to recover. And considering the amount of games they already play with Barca, contending in three different competitions, they could really use a break...But congratulations to Busquets and Piqué!
Puyol?
This is a friendly game for God's sake...
yep since puyol is injured i dont see them using him in a friendly match,i dont get why they got him,he could try a youngster instead
i guess busquets is gonna replace senna sooner or later, as cesc is gonne replace xavi and so on...
cesc will not replace xavi. iniesta will.
Congratulations for the Barca youth system :) I am loving it and soon Bojan and Victor Valdes will join! "Areign" and "Ekar" Xavi will never lose his place until the next Euro and Senna woould probably not lose his place until after the world cup but Senna's form has been bad this year and Busquets might surpringly start as DM in WC :P
