That is alot. That's the problem with the zone marking strategy. When several opposing players are in your box it becomes a mess. I don't know if the team can switch to man marking only when dealing with set pieces, but it is the most effective way in those situations.

Both Pep and the players feel more confident with zone marking. They just need to practice it more.

A new goalie would solve this problem. One that knows when to come out and punch or catch a ball with impeccable timing. That man is not Valdes.

That's a nice article with some ups and downs anyway, what i completely find it hard to see is that; first of all Valdes is a Zamora so far for this season with at least goals conceeded, and i think ur being to harsh Ramzi on barca's defence... In CL games in most of them PEP placed a formation almost same as in the Cup League so that was not the best possible formation so that's not the right time to make any conlucsions. There goals were expected in this case at our bad.

As for the Betis game of course we sufferes that was expected, they are fast in counters an we were attacking with the all forces of course they got they're chances and they scored eventhough both of the goals were conceeded from set pieces.

I just do not got the patience to move on as it would take me hours....

As i firstly mentioned as usual nice article.

People moan far to much about Valdes. We have a great keeper (admitadely he is not at Casillas' level) but he has been better this season than Casillas yet he still gets blamed for things. It has been so long since Valdes made a high profile error and he pretty much saved us in the classico yet still he has to endure criticism. (I hate mentioning him again but compare that to Casillas who has made many mistakes for Madrid this season but people just say he is 'off form', Valdes makes no mistakes this season and he is still criticised and this by blaugrana fans). Come on cules give VV a break and some praise for his Zamora winning level so far.

I think even though we are applying Zonal Marking, but still some man marking is taking place. Till now Busquets is the player who do the man marking on the most dangerous player the opponent plant in our box. He is not the right man for the job till he learn to focus on the player, not the ball. At least that caused us two goals so far.
