Deal with Ribery and pre-agreement with Bayern

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich wing attacker and French international Franck Ribéry (25).

Ribery would be the the first option of Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola who is looking to sign a winger and the player would like to be part of a more competitive team.

Barcelona would therefore already have found a deal with the Frenchman's agent on the duration of the contract and the salary the player will receive. Ribery would sign a contract for the next four seasons, until the summer of 2013.

Bayern Munich nevertheless wouldn't be willing to let the player go and the negotiations with the German club are expected to be very difficult. The fact that Bayern Munich is interested in some Barcelona players that might leave the club could make the talks a little easier (read more
here).

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona has already reached a formal pre-agreement with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Ribéry, who is represented by Jean-Pierre Bernès and Alain Migliaccio, although the deal will only be finalized at the end of the season. The good relationship between the presidents of both clubs, Franz Beckenbauer and Joan Laporta, would have helped in the negotiations.

There would be unanimity among Barcelona officials and staff members that Ribéry should be a top transfer target for next season. The player likes the attacking style of Guardiola's team and Barcelona left back defender Eric Abidal is a close friend of Ribéry. The French winger has made clear that he wants to leave this summer and Bayern would have accepted that they cannot keep the player any longer.

I dont know how Barça see this. Ribery is a fantastic player, but every player needs time to adapt and that would be alot easier for him if he had some compatriots in the team. But if he comes, i dont see why we should keep Henry and if we have to believe all the reports Abidal might leave aswell.
The last obstacle is the price tag, which i think will be around 35 million.
I prefer him over Aguero though.

let this be true! Ribery is perfect for us and our current needs, and an utterly fantastic player.

Henry can become the team's new Larsson... Lets get a genuine winger to generate attack from the left wing as well... so long this season, most of the attacks have been from the right; through Messi n Alves... Goooo Barca... sign Zhirkov too... then the team would be invincible...

hope this is true! though this might be completely bogus, its interesting that both papers are reporting it. hopefully where there smoke there is fire. he would make us so much stronger and give us more overall depth! but i dont want to get too carried away...

this is surely not true... every word sounds like a lie

Henry can never become the new Larsson. Mostly because of the difference in the salary.

yes he's a great player, but I doubt if bayern will let him go..
I don't understand when people want to get rid of abidal. he's playing well, his centers aren't good though but he brings balance!

I hope this is true, he would fit in to our team so perfect :).. With him barca will be scary to face :). Villa would be good to if etoo leaves.

It would be amazing to have him in the team.

Ribery at the left flank and Messi on the Right.

And then try to buy Evra or Zhirkov :D

Messi+Alves and Ribery +Evra/Zhirkov

Would be very offensive, therefore we shouldn't sell Abidal who brings the defensive side.

This barca team would look more like the dream team of 92 with Laudrup Romario Stoichkov. We would have Messi Etoo and Ribery.

perhaps we could move henry back to centre forward and have him alternate w/ eto'o?

The latest is Ribery's agent (hence Ribery) saying that he would only leave Bayern for a side such as ours.

So how does a starting XI look, in fantasyland?

Alves----Pique-----Puyol----Abidal
