Anyway for next season we will have Puyol, Marquez, Pique, Milito, Henrique ... thats 5 very stable guys at the back and Caceres as cover. Besides by then it might be time to start giving some of the Barca Athletic guys a run out. Somebody explain to me why we would table a bid for Bruno Alves and an over 20 mill bid at that?

It's strange to see that we can't get a defender in the first team anymore lately, while in general it's easier to produce defenders. i think the last one was Oleguer, who joined in 2003 (leaving apart Damia who was with the first team for half a year or so).

I remember a few years ago there was Olmo who was close, then Rodri, then Valiente. But none of them made it in the end.

Botia is unexpectedly having a good season at Barcelona B (which caused his debut with Spain U-21 earlier this month), but it's so crowded at the centre...

What about Valiente? Any chance we might bring him back too? I understand he is versatile enough to play a number of positions.

I can't see it happen (we just heve too much guys to play CB or DM), but you never know...

I hope he's not like marquez and doesn't get too many yellow cards...
