Italian football site Il Reca claims that former Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini (43) is a candidate to replace Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola. The Barcelona board would be unhappy with the results so far and consider a rapid change.
In May of this year, Mancini was dismissed by Inter despite having won two consecutive Italian league titles.

i like guardiola,i think he will get his chance, but if he fails in 1-2 matches in september i see laporta waving the axe,
from what i have seen guardiola as a coach is somewhat like rijkaard but fr was more relaxed and more sure of his team, also they both play the same system with no variations to it. also pepe trusts young players alot.
the thing is the guardiola move was a bad one,he lacks expirience,he may be the best manager in the world in the future, but right now he doesnt seem to know where he is,every game matters and he was afraid the first cl game and didnt use the best players to win, thats a mistake to me,the players can rest another time not at the start of the league where you stragle for points.
also the press are gonna attack us and pepe for his inexpirience after each miss ,and that will cause a little bad atmosphere
also i didnt like what he said after the last match,he said it was not eto's fault that we didnt score in the last game, some of you may think that he was defending eto but this line wasnt,it was like targeting eto and somewhat protecting his "bad" game, like it was only eto's fault,he could have said it was the teams and mine fault and not target a player, those things in the media cause confusion.
as a player pep was amazing but as a coach he lacks now ,alot,i dont think he is capable of holding a team like barca ,he is just copying frank, and thats sad, heck he maybe was copying him last year and made this style his ,thats possible too,but thats not what we wanted, thats why we needed a change
since the media started manager talks,he doesnt have much time,he and laporta knows it,also for mancini he is one manager that can help us(i would prefer mourinho cause he has huge ego)but i think mancini is a great manager and can use our team and produce the best from it.
sorry for the wall of text^^
im guessing, and hoping, this is just paper talk. alright 4 games 1 win 1 draw and 2 loses isnt a good record but it doesnt tell the whole story. the second wisla game didnt matter, i wasnt pleased with the attitude of the players but it was kinda understandable. numancia was poor but racing they had improved, it was just bloody bad luck that we didnt win that game.
our faults have been things that pep had recognised and tried to rectify during the summer - LW and big no 9 - but you cant always get who you want (ask real madrid!). the squad is progressing which is the most important thing.
if barca sacked pep after 4 games we'd be the laughing stock of football, they need to give him at least two years. i reckon a player that was that good has the drive to succeed and deserves to be treated with respect by all connected to barca.
I dont believe it because its from Italia. They just want to talk about the future of Mancini.
But Guardiola is doing a great job. Results will come because we play good, lot of things changed against last year. The players are better physically prepared, they are hungry and the game is a lot faster.
Its a start of a new project. It can take time before the success will come, remember the 03/04 season...the first half was really bad but then it came.
Guardiola still has a lot of credit. And as long as Madrid doesn't take the lead, they will give him time certainly until after new year.
this could be the most terrible and horrifying thing since godzilla attacked japan or the worlds "armageddon" problem...hope for barca that they are not so dumb to sign this fool...it would be like you hire the titanic-captain to seal your ship...NOOOO!!!...PLEASEEE!!!...DON'T!!!
Guardiola took a lot of risk by selling Deco and Ronnie and put his hope to the youngsters. And also IMO not a complete signing (for the left back and goalie) but still he can use Caceres at left back which I really want to see. It's not that I say he made a bad choice for taking these risks, but it's gonna take some time for the team. I still trust Pep n hope he learned something especially in picking the right player to start and good tactical and timing for subs.
I don't think Mancini is the solution. He got critiziced in Italy for not having a plan-B to his 4-3-1-2 and that is one of the reason they never played well in CL. Therefore he is just like Rijkaard and Pep so far, an one dimensional coach.
Pep isn't one-dimensional, he tried like a 4-4-2 in pre-season but it didn't work.
He just doesn't have the players to change a lot: no target man up front and no wingers. We have too much similar players.
he should have the players to change styles,it was his job to choose the squad,he said he doesnt need any other player even if the squad wanted a striker and a left winger,
and dont tell me that there werent options out there, want a big target n9 and cheap?payluchenko was a choice, and dont let me getting starting on the left winger position where there were like 5 players to get.
if we have injuries and have to rely on youngsters for some periods it will be peps fault and txiki's ,not bad lucks,i hate it when people say its bad luck and its bad luck,no it isnt its football and you can predict all things and be prepared
we certainly didnt start well and i dont see us doing well until january where we will be reinforced with a player or 2.
Guardiola can just give the names he wants (Adebayor? Silva?). If the club can't get them, that's not his fault. He says he believes in the squad: of course, what else can he say?!Just give the guy some more time, no need to overreact now.
yes no need to overreact now ,overreact in the end when we are out of champions league and finish 4+
also who said i dont give him time,he has till octomber to prove me wrong, heck with this team everyone can win 1-2 games,
what about a 4-4-2 with henry and eto'o as strikers which should be great plus messi as very offensive RM, xavi plus keita/toure in the middle and iniesta/hleb on the left...
I smell bull sh*t from Italy. Not a surprise that an Italian paper will make up some story to sell papers...
I think a 4-4-2 would even mean less space for the strikers, Louis. And we don't really have the players to play it. If we would have bought Capel for the left wing, this could have been an option.
Louis is spot on. I've been nattering for that formation over on The Offside. Henry/Eto'o as dual strikers with Messi playing just behind them. Iniesta plays left wing instead of drifting to the middle as he always does, and Xavi does his thing. Functionally, Alves is our right winger anyhow.
The Mancini thing is pure, festering bullshite.
MANCINI would be way better than Guardiola...
