Inter could move for Marquez

Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Inter Milan is monitoring the situation of Barcelona central defender and Mexican international Rafael Márquez (29) (read more here).

The player, who is represented by Jorge Mendes who is also the agent of Inter manager José Mourinho, would be willing to leave Barcelona and the interest of city rivals AC Milan could make Inter move soon.

Italian football site Il Reca claims that Inter manager Mourinho has given his permission to start talking with Barcelona. Inter would want to sign Marquez, whose contract with Barcelona expires in 2010, on a one year loan deal with the option to buy the defender for 5 million euro° next summer.

They should try to sell him for around 10 million...i think Piqué and maybe Caceres are better than him

Rafa is not for sale, he doesn't want to leave and he's part of Pep's plans. So how would Inter possible be able to sign him? Well, if they make a huge bid, then Barça probably would listen. As it is now, Inter can dream on about this transfer.

I can't understand why clubs would agree to do these type of "loan" deals? Essentially, once the loan period is over you are selling the player for half the value (or less)that you could have sold him the year before! So why not sell him for "full" value now instead?

I think 10mil is a good number for Marquez, keeping in mind that given his age, with each year his value is only going to diminish. Although I don't see Pep willing to part with him unless he get's an offer that's going to knock his socks off. Loaning him out to Inter is not something I believe Pep would seriously consider.

Real value: 10 million.

Marquez wants to stay, Pep wants him to stay so he should cost about 20 in my opinion.

cojonudo,

This deal is actually better than selling him straight for 5 million. His salary is nearly 10 million euro per year, so not having to pay that this year will amount to a 15 million euro sale!
