Guardiola wants to keep Marquez

Atlético Madrid manager Javier Aguirre has said in an interview with Mexican newspaper Excélsior that future Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola doesn't want to sell Barcelona cental defender and Mexican international Rafael Márquez (29) (read more here): "Barcelona doesn't want to negotiate because it's a player the new manager has declared untransferable. It's not gonna be easy."


Aguirre again said that he had neverthless recommended his compatriot to the Atlético board: "I've said to the directors that I'm very interested in Márquez because it's a great player, who can play both as central defender and as defensive midfielder, and because he's a close friend, who I already know for 15 years."

In an interview with Mexican radio station Punta Radio, Aguirre basically repeated this statements.

Sell him, he is a black sheep. I dont see any reason why to sell a fighter like Eto'o and keep a loafer like Marquez.

He can play defender and defensive midfielder and it would be good to stay. But, FCB staff should listen to offers and if there's a good one he might be sold to earn some money for Alves. Anyway, most players wouldn't be sold and I hope Eto'o will stay.
