Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Sevilla right back defender and Brazilian international Daniel Alves (25) has made the decision to leave for Barcelona in the summer and will not listen to other offers coming in. Alves has not yet made plans to return to his home country because he first want to see the deal with Barcelona closed.
Alves has already agreed terms with Barcelona (read more here). Barcelona has made a formal offer for the player and it is expected that the negotiations with Sevilla could start this week since both teams have nothing left to play for in the Liga which allows them to start concentrating on next season.
After the Betis game on Sunday, where Alves saw a red card which won't allow him to play the last game of the season with sevilla, the right back seemed to announce his goodbye in an interview with Spanish radio station Onda Cero: "There shouldn't be much fuss about all this. It has been five brillant years here in Sevilla and we all knew that one day or another this moment would arrive. I hope that I can say goodbye to the fans next week and that it can be a positive experience."

Manchester also wants him...
The team really need a confidence-boosting shock transfer like that. They missed out on Mourinho, so if we miss Alves we're gonna have a summer full of douts (no matter who else will be coming or leaving).
finally some good news about barca! I hope they sign alves and make the fans little happy...
I don't understand why Man U would be interested in him? Currently they probably have the best overall defensive backfield in the world with Ferdinand, Brown and Evra (who I think is currently playing as the best left back in the world...sorry Abidal). Add to the fact that Man U just renewed the contracts of Ferdinand and Brown and I'm a bit surprised to hear this news. I've never said I was against an Alves signing, but ONLY at a reasonable price. If I was Barca I certainly wouldn't go any higher than 30mil Euro for him. If Del Nido wants to be a b*tch about it then he can hope and pray that Abramovich comes along with a better offer(keeping in mind he already rejected a 21mil Pound offer from them previously.)
I guess I spoke too soon! With Chelsea now having secured Jose Bosingwa that takes them out of the "Alves Derby". I don't see Madrid interested because they already have Ramos. I hope and pray that Barcelona don't outbid themselves for this guy. The only other team that could realisticaly afford him is Man U. And for Man U Alves would be a luxury player considering how fortified they are already at the back. For Barcelona he is a priority signing. Get the bloody deal done now! The suspense is killing me!
