Madrid sports tabloid Marca claims that Sevilla right back defender and Brazilian international Dani Alves (24) has reached a total agreement with Barcelona after negotiations between Barcelona officials and the player's agent. The player has informed his club that he wants to leave for Barcelona.
It seems like the Brazilian right back will be able to leave Sevilla this summer, although things are difficult to predict when dealing with someone like Sevilla president José María del Nido. If Sevilla does not qualify for the Champions League, Sevilla would certainly find itself in a tougher position to keep Alves, both for sports and financial reasons.
Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona and Alves have closed a five-year deal. The player would triple his current salary. Sevilla president Del Nido would have agreed to start talking with Barcelona. A first meeting between both clubs did nevertheless not yet take place but Barcelona president Joan Laporta has already sent his Sevilla colleague a fax containing a formal offer.
