Quote of the day: Guardiola

It was a brilliant goal and not even seven goalkeepers would have stopped it.

talking about Lyon's goal

it was a brilliant goal but i disagree with the seven goalkeepers comment ,its a clear way of pep in order to get the fans out of valdes face.

if a goalkeeper was focused and not bored(it will go out,it will go out, crap it went in)then he could pull a save there.since the goalie knows that juninho is going for the goal he should take the right position for it.

Guardiola just wants to ease the pressure that is falling on Valdes. He is the worst goallie I have ever seen!!! It is a fact. I read a lot of comments, and NEVER read one that is actually praising our NO1. Its is a shame. And the funny part is, that he wants to earn as much as Casillas is earning at Madrid. Well, after the last 2 matches he will be praying for the bench for the next season. Of course if the staff realises how highly overrated he is. OHH and he should have had that ball (Juninho´s goal).

anony, watch the classico again then. He sure saved us there..

In my opinion there's a very big chance Cassillas, Van der sar or Buffon wouldn't have stopped that ball either.. It was just a breathtaking freekick, credit to whom deserves it..

If Valdes takes position for a direct kick (wich is still no garantee for a save on such a ball) and juninho gives an assist to someone then people would scream he had to prepare for an indirect free kick..

In my opinion, the goal was a result of bad positioning by Valdes. Forget seven goalkeepers, an attentive goalkeeper would stop that from going in.

...But bless Guardiola for what he's trying to do.

I hope Guardiola has seen how a poor goalkeeper can turn the things bad. He biased that Liverpool fixture years ago going into goal with the ball, he does it in league matches, and he did it again.

How long will we have this dummy as our goallie?

ok... he's tryin to defend this stupid keeper of ours.... cant be blamed... Pep... maybe we shud start a poll to check who would be the ideal man to replace VV... this is gettin more n more realistic... VV makes 2 saves n makes 5 blunders... this cant happen for atleast 5 more years...

i think i would have stoped the freekick. valdes is gay.

I really think people who blame valdes for this goal don't know much about football or at least didn't play it themselves. No goalkeeper would have stopped this shot. The ball goes just very high and then it suddenly drops for some reason. No goalkeepr could have stopped it. Seven? Maybe.

Valdés over-rated? C'mon guys. Everyone's fully aware of VV's mistakes over the years, but we also know that he's the type that counts on confidence. When on form he's only second best to Saint Iker. So let's stop this BS and give support to VV.

Btw, Petr Cech, Casillas, Barthez, Buffon, Oli Kahn and all the greats have done worse blunders than VV, so what's all the fuzz?
