God damn right.

glad to see that our visitors know about football and left adebayor for last place :D
ironicly , villa is the easiest or the most realistic option to get of all the targets .

Yes, Villa could be the easiest signing of all these attackers. Torres unlikely, Benzema too expensive (and he already stated that he would prefer move to RM). Eto'o will sign renewal and he "revealed" his wish to stay, so I think selling Henry and Hleb could be more realistic in the next months.

I would like Barca to bring in Llorente for next season, even if Eto'o stays. He could be the missing link of diversity in center attack and would be a perfekt alternative for Pep if the game-plan does'nt work on occasion. 15-20 million Euro should do it, don't you think?

Just imagine what Eto'o and Villa can do in a game together.

I would say that it isn't a question of knowing football that left Adebayor in last place, as much as a predilection for known quantities.

We don't need a world-class striker. Heck, we don't have one now. We have a very good striker who is exceptional at working within the system, and scoring lots of goals. Put anybody of quality at the "9" position and goals will come. Lots of them. It's unavoidable. Look at the goals that Eto'o has scored this season. I have. Every match. An amazing number of them are tap-ins, rooted in the chances we create.

The real question is what striker can provide a legitimate option to our "small ball." Does anyone think that Guardiola was crazy for wanting Adebayor over last summer? He hasn't been wrong yet, and certainly knows what he needs to ideally implement his system.

I don't know if Adebayor is that player. But I do trust Guardiola. I also know that he is big, quick and strong with good ball skills. He's also still improving. It would have been nice, when we were trying and failing to play long ball against Espanyol this past weekend, to actually have had a target. Hint: Busquets wasn't it. Not even close.

Eto'o and Villa can't coexist. Neither one's ego would allow it. Then we have the same problem that we have with Henry, with a striker being played out of position.

Adebayor is big, quick when his ass is on fire, strong when he is fighting for his life and doesn't have good ball skills.

Llorente is a much better option as a big, tall target-man. I agree with Bogman in that we should probably bring Llorente in next season irrespective of whether Eto'o stays or not.

Kxevin, you're against Eto'o from the start of the season. I really don't know why. But, I do know that he's the best striker at this moment. No matter how beautiful (or not) are his goals.

Do you really think he is a better striker then Torres?
i think even Villa is better, as i said before it is much harder for Eto'o to rescue a game and create his own chances than either of the two spaniards... and that is something we lack dearly.
Messi can't always save us...

I would absolutely hate to see Adebayor in a Barca jersey. No disrespect to his talent but I do not believe his attitude would be good for the dressing room.

No, I am most decidedly not against Eto'o. Never was, never will be. I think that he is a great striker for our system, and done wonderful things for the team.

Am I a fan of his attitude and volatility? No. Never will be. I don't think he has the team first in his thoughts, either. If he can help himself first and the team by consequence, he'll do that.

But I am for every player on the roster. Period. But the question was who is best for the side, should Eto'o leave? For me, that is Adebayor or Benzema.

Kamikaze is right about Adebayor's ball skills. But he has a better first touch than Eto'o, as Arsenal and Barca watchers can attest.

Is Adebayor selfish? Yes. So is Messi, Eto'o and Henry. It must come with the offensive mind set.

Do I think Adebayor is a better striker than Torres? Yes and no. He's stronger and faster. He would also be cheaper. I think he would score about a bazillion goals in our system, mostly because of the balls that, at present, are left begging in the box because we don't have a player with the size or strength to get to them. After his first season, he would have to give Alves half his salary. :D

But no way is Liverpool letting Torres go. Anyone with that thought is dreaming. Frankly, I can't see Villa coming, either. Why would Valencia help a rival by selling them their best offensive player, right? Villa is definitely a better striker than Eto'o in some respects (control, creating his own shot), not as good in others (quickness, strength, anticipation).

I also think there are other players out there that can be had for less money. Will Krkic be ready by then? What about, rather than splashing 40 million on Benzema, getting a very good striker, and shoring up other positions? Just a thought.

First i would go for Torres , if we can't sign him , then i'll try Villa , if not Villa , i'll go for Ibrahimovic Aguero or Benzema .
I don't like Adebayor , he have no talent at all i thing , he don't deserve Barca's #9 , not even Trezeguet , Llorente is not at the list at all , i haven't seen hem never playing a soccer , at least just because he plays at Atl.Bilbao a team who never gos more than 10 place in the Spanish primera Division.

Hope we sign Villa or Torres , that's the most important signing .

Kxevin, I have to say that Adebayor wouldn't score a bazillion goals because he is one of the most profligate strikers available.

I have watched a lot of Adebayor and honestly I cant think of anything more frustrating than the rest of the team working hard to create chance after chance to have them wasted by Adebayor. Also he is a incredibly lazy player and replacing Eto'o with him would be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Eto'o whatever be his motivation at least works hard in training and on the pitch (though not always).

If I were in the team I wouldn't want a player who wastes all my effort and also gives the impression that he doesn't care by his laziness.

I reckon we should get Mario Gomez. He's tall, strong, skillfull, quick for a tall guy, got a great header and hes only 23. and hes also a barca fan!

a mario gomez fan...finally. he's scored like 6 goals in his last 4 games. pep was rumored to have been following him after failed bids or whatever for adebayor & beczema.

the thing is eto'o is way quick...which is why he does so well in barca's system. mario gomez is tall & strong. not slow...but certainly not as fast as eto'o, which is why i think somebody just as fast should be put on the left hand side to compensate for that i.e. ribery if in fact guardiola wants to go for a tall target dude...which i'm pretty sure was his plan all along.
