Italian football site Tuttomercatoweb claims that Barcelona is one of the European top clubs that is interested in Sporting Lisbon defensive midfielder and Portuguese international Miguel Veloso (22).
Paulo Barbosa, the agent of Veloso, has earlier confirmed in an interview with Italian football site Firenzeviola that the player is being followed by Spanish clubs: "I know that Italian agents have been watching him, but there are no official negotiations ongoing. He has a host of suitors in Italy but there are also interested clubs in Spain and England."
The contract of Veloso at Sporting expires in 2011 and the player has a buyout clause of 30 million euro°.

30 million euro =
38 million us dollar
24 million british pound
can anybody explain to me, why is barca allegedly looking for a DM, when we have toure, keita and busquets? besides keita, who were injured the rest is performing well, so i dont see a reason for doing that. perhaps they try to scare the shit out of busquets to sign a contract..:)
Just keeping an eye on the market, you never know what can happen so you should be prepared.
This probably means mothing, as usual.
But Veloso has potential. He's young and versatile. He can play centre back, DM and midfielder. 30 mil? No way. 12-15 maybe.
i think this is a lie.i dont think we need to look to the market for a defensive mildfielder.its wrong. if we are to look for a player and thats to be a provivent mildfielder that can cover for xavi.
Hes a very good player!
Maybe we currently dont really need him. but a Buy + Loan back to sporting for a year or two could do wonders for us, as said before he can play both CB and DM, and with Guddy, Puyol, Marquez, Keita and Millito probably going to be benched in 2 years time, Veloso is an excelent replacement :)
But again, we don't really need him :P
