Toure would like to play with brother at Arsenal

Asked about the rumours linking him with a summer move to Arsenal (read more here), Barcelona defensive midfielder and Ivorian international Yaya Touré (25) has said in an interview with British sports site Sky Sports that he would love to play alongside his older brother Kolo (picture, at the left): "I am aware of the interest from the Premier League but I can't say anything yet. However it would be great to play in a big team with my brother. It could be fantastic but you never know."

Madrid sports tabloid As claims that Guardiola prefers that Sevilla midfielder Christian Poulsen (28) would occupy Touré's position before the defence (read more here). Catalan sport paper El Mundo Deportivo claims the opposite: Touré is a key player for Guardiola and Barcelona would only consider to let him go to Arsenal if that would be the only way to bring Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor (24) to Barcelona (read more here).

I hope this doesn't turn into a "soap opera"-like struggle between Guardiola wanting Poulsen vs. Laporta and the Board refusing to jettison Toure...that is "IF" some of the rumors and speculation are to be considered true. If true, I realy have to question Guardiola's rationale on this one. In an otherwise dreadfull campaign. Toure was the lone shinning figure at the back. Plus his willingness to continue on despite suffering through a hernia shows(at least to me) that he is a HIGH character guy and a true team player! Just when it seemed like "some" of the players were prematurely "shutting it down" for the season, Yaya perceviered onward. And NO, I wouldn't include him in a swap for Adebayor either! Barcelona would be foolish to let this guy go.

i agree, yaya was the most consistent player in the team this season, while most of the players had ups and downs (mostly downs).. he's a greatplayer with great phisique and skill.. he's much better than poulsen. I really dont know how is guardiola thinking on this one... As for adebayour, what the hell do we need him for when you've got a player like eto'o, who knows the spanish league very well, and is one of the greatest strikers in the world.
the barca board and staff needsto think rationally about what they need and what they want to let go.. we need change, not flush the whole team...
