DEBATE: Goal keeper

With the renewal of Pinto it seems that the Barcelona goal will next season be defended by the following three players: Víctor Valdés, José Manuel Pinto and Albert Jorquera.

What do you think about this trio? Valdés is the number one out of these three? The renewal of Pinto is a good thing? You would have prefered that Valdés had to leave? You think they should have brought another goal keeper in? If so, was it really a priority on which the club should have spend serious money? Who would you want to see as Barcelona goal keeper?

I really don't think Valdes is the problem. And since we don't have too much cash and we have other priorities, I wouldn't have mind if they just went on with Valdes and Jorquera.

I would have liked Pinto and Jorquera out and a young talent in (like the Lloris guy fromNice who's now to Lyon) to compete with Valdes.

Valdes time is really up, we should need another stopper in!!! And why did we let Reina go????

I love Valdés. But to give him some harder competition I would have wanted a good second-keeper, at least betetr than Pinto. In that case, Valdés would have worked even harder during the trainings and feel that he is not the only keeper for the starting team.

In my opinion, Marco Amelia would have been perfect. A cheap catch due to the fact that Livorno went down to Serie B.

But I am satisfied with Valdés and his performences even though he has made a number of misstakes. The first half of the previous season he saved us from many debacles (how could it be more than it was?) at the same time he is an own product from the La Masía.

To not mention his winner mentality and his heart for the club. It is not for nothing he has been brought up when a secon d and a third captain is discussed (after Carles Puyol of course as the first-captain).

Valdés for the first-keeper position but it would have been to an advantage for his progress with some decent competition.

Visca el Barça, Victor Valdés y Catalunya!

what about young oier olazabal....??

i would like to see him as third GK choice rather than albert....

I agree with Robin. Valdes is a good keeper, but we need a better second keeper, to get more competition and thereby raise the level of our keeper.

Yet i still think we need to solve the problem of getting new outfield players first.

Yeah, why did we change our "two first team goal keepers and the third keeper is the young keeoer from Barcelona B' policy?

Must be frustrating for Oier.

i really dont think valdes is the problem but while cant u just let pinto and joguera go and bring in another safest hand to compete with valdes like hart of manchester city or petr cech of chelsea or david james of pothmouth

We should go for Artur Boruc of Celtic. He would be good choice.

Barcelona should get rid of valdes and buy a decent goalkeeper he lets in the easiest shots. They should buy somone like Lloris or neuer
