Portuguese tabloid Correio da Manhã claims that Barcelona is holding talks with Sporting on the transfer of Sporting midfielder and Portuguese international João Moutinho (21), who is seen as a possible successor of Barcelona midfielder Deco (read more here). With the negotiations being well-advanced, the deal could be closed in the next days.
Barcelona offers 20 million euro° plus central defender Gerard Piqué (21) on loan for two years. Sporting is at the moment holding on to the buyout fee of 25 million euro°, but could accept to lower that to 23 million euro if Piqué would join them on loan.

as for Moutinho IF he decides to sign for Barca... IT COULD BE ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING SIGNING FOR BARCA THIS SEASON !!!... This is so wayyy more exciting than C.Ronaldo signing for Barca...

Never really heard about this guy. But 25mio is too much. Barca is wasting too much money buying wrong players. Barca need big names such as Alves, Diego, Van der Vaart or Huntelaar! Buying Keita before Alves and chasing Caceres was stupid according to me. I hope Eto'o and Ronnie will stay. And this year squad should be like this:

Henry should be sold, and I don't want Hleb-not a good solution, but if Ronnie leaves club this summer Silva would be a good option for left flank.
First of all Pique shouldn't be loaned. Here you have a fairy tale ending of a "favored son" returning home and you're going to shatter his confidence and shock the fans by loaning him out?? If this goes through I can see riots in the streets with cars being flipped over and the fans demanding for Laporta's head on a stick!...and nothing against Moutinho but why not spend 5-10 Euro more for Diego?? And don't tell me Diego's "not for sale" because if we don't get him Madrid surely will! So Werder should say instead, "Diego will not be sold for LESS than 30-35mil Euro!" As we've seen with the Ronaldo saga there realy isn't a player that is untouchable or that can't be had for any price! Every player has a price!
Moutinho can play any position in midfield, he doesnt score many goals but does dictate out on the pitch and plus he's very reliable. Honestly i see him being better than Deco, not a replacement for Ronnie but he could be molded into an excellent footballer and is a very good one right now at only 21. Sign him, it'll be good for the team and for our future. Id rather have Diego but this guy is almost at the same level if you just watch him play!
