The European Championship starts today with two matches in group A. For the whole schedule look here.
On this first day, Barcelona midfielder Deco (30) will play with Portugal against Turkey. Deco is expected to start the game. You can comment the match (and the performance of Deco) here.
pep's opinion:
deserved 2-0 win for portugal. deco played as most advanced man in a midfield with controling midfielder petit and with moutinho, who was very active both in attack (gave the assist for the second goal) as in defense. although he really looks fragile. deco, who greeted former barcelona goal keeper rustu just before the beginning of the match, started the game well but disappeared quite soon, not being able to pick up the playmaking role due to unnecesary ball losses and bad passes. he was replaced at the end of the match by meira. this wasn't a performance which will have a positive influence on his transfer fee.

Note :
during the Euro 2008 I'll have slightly less time to keep this blog up-to-date, so thanks for your understanding if you sometimes have to wait a little longer for some stories to be published.
dont worry mate you are doing great job, this is the first site i visit everyday when i wake up,
on the topic,i see portugal trashing turkey 3-0,deco will play major role in the game ,1st scorer hugo almeyda
(quaresma and ronaldo on the wings and deco as a 10 ,looking forward to this game :) )
checking the new deco
Moutinho isn't the finished product and is a bit under the shadow of Deco in this game, but you can see the potential.
Would be worth the 25 Mio., at least in some years, I think.
moutinho will be too short for european. for all the skills and technique he has, still they couldnt compensate with his physical weaknesses. look on simao when he came in to barcelona during his early age. he couldnt survive it then. moutinho will ever lives in deco shadows. same as in the game.
p/s : pepe was too good, why we missed out on him to real
Pepe was good in attack, but not in defense, where he always seems very weak and unsecure (not fast enough plus bad positioning). So I'm glad we didn't bought him cause with our way of playing he would be a disaster and probably would sit on the bench.
Thanks for the compliment, skanjos!
