British tabloid The Sunday Mirror claims that Arsenal midfielder and Belarussian international Alexander Hleb (27) will join Barcelona this week in a 15 million euro° deal.
Earlier this week Hleb already reached a personal agreement with Barcelona (read more here). Arsenal has now accepted the wish of the player to leave and the negotiations between the clubs will be finalized soon.
Hleb, who was due to marry pop singer and former model Anastasia Kosenkova in the Belarussian capital Minsk yesterday, could sign his Barcelona contract in the coming days.

Is this for real?? It is really unexpected... Is Hleb suppose to be the replacement for Deco???
Deco and Hleb are pretty different players and and in my opinion Deco is much more complete midfielder in terms of play making, defence and attack... Hleb is also still a really good player but mainly in attack and may not be at the level of Deco... (Deco has actually done a lot for the club and for just the last season probably did not perform to his best due to injury
but in the matches that he played his quality was still there)
Players that may be able to replace Deco would probably be Diego Ribas da Cunha and João Moutinho (or probably Ibrahim Afellay or Van Der Vaart)...
But if Hleb is brought in mainly for attack then maybe it is a good choice as Hleb attacking ability is pretty solid and also trying to sign the above mentioned players (as far as I know from reports) those players are gonna be staying with their current club with no intention to leave which would mean their price would be without a doubt really high...
So assuming the intention for Hleb is mainly to get an attacking midfielder or probably until the above players are interested in moving to another club Hleb might be quite a good choice... but if Hleb is the priority to fill in for Deco then he is most probably not gonna fill in for Deco well...

hleb would be a good signing. Keita and hleb are replacing deco..
He can also play as winger. there is one negative side on his abilities and that is the amount of assits and goals he scores. 15m is a fair price too.
He is a great player to watch and has a great mentality. I hope yaya isn't in the deal because that would be a pity

I don't like this player very much. I was hoping that Barca will be involved in chasing Diego or Van der Vaart but now I think Barca will regret signings Keita and Hleb. They have no such quality playing for Barca. As I can hear ManUtd is leading chase for Alves, and Zambrotta signed for Milan. Let's hope Barca will snap some really good players.

Quite a good comment above... With the amount spent on Hleb and how much is received for Zambrotta would probably go to better use too ensure Alves plays for Barca next season?
I just dont see him fitting in... it is clear he has to play in the same line as messi... just behind the centre foward on the left flank with messi on the right .. but he is right foooted... and whenever he ahs played as a einger its been on the right... we need a left footer to add the balance on the left that we lacked this season. Also as said above he is not the complete midfielder deco was he does not score very often and he is very fragile... whats the point of buying him when we have REAL needs at left wing/forward and at right back....w
I read somewhere they could think as Hleb as a winger "Luis Enrique" style. So not the fastest guy or the one with the best dribble, but with a lot of power and mentality.
He could probably be a solid back-up for the two attacking midfield positions and for the both wingers. Maybe that's the reason why Barcelona could be considering selling Giovani.

perfect so barca wont have to sell Toure as it was roumured. Hleb would make a great addition to barca squad. We can use his technichue and his agility. with keita in the back or toure it depends from pep or even both of them we need now just alves and one great striker. so we can win everything visca el barca
