Brtish tabloid Mail on Sunday claims that Barcelona is still interested in Arsenal midfielder and Spanish international Cesc Fàbregas (21) and that Arsenal wants to sign a top player this winter to convince the player to stay.
With talks on Cesc's future due this summer, the signing of Russian attacker Arshavin should also help to convince the Catalan midfielder that the English Premier League club has the potential to attract big names and to compete for the trophies in the future.
The tabloid claims that Cesc is the player Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola wants for next season and they have already tried to sign him, when director Marc Ingla met with Arsenal director Ken Friar last summer. And with Barcelona enjoying a good period, it is believed in Barcelona that Guardiola's special relationship with Cesc could now tempt him back to his former club.

we dont need fabregas.
the question is not - barca or arsenal...it's about playing at a club with future (not only barca) or staying with a whiney, bad, always talking crap,wannabe-good,young-boy-loving coach like arsene wenger who rent the non-success...and for those who disagree...what has wenger won or which talent was he brought out that was cheaper than 15 million...this guys biggest success as a frenchman was to release any english players from the squad...sorry,but this one had to be said...
As much as I am willing to admit Fabregas is a great player, and think its awesome our club is willing to retrive home grown talent from the youth acadamy. I would perfer to see more field time given to players we already have on the bench like Bojan....ect
to anony...there are just one english player (walcott from southampton - 18 mio.)and one from wales (ramsey from cardiff city - 6.4 mio.)...very high-paid wannabe-made talents...5 english or british players?...not even in your dreams,birdman...but that's not the point...wenger never won the cl so how you talk about world champions?...wenger is overrated...that's the real word...ps there's a description how not to be anony on this blog...give your dumbness a name...
I don't think we'll buy Cesc back. I think his price is too high, and Arsenal won't be cutting any deals.
Cesc would be a rotation player as we already have central maestros like Xavi and Iniesta. I don't believe Guardiola would sacrifice the defensive midfielder to play with three maestros.
I believe Joao Moutinho would be the better signing for central midfield. It would be a far less complicated option than that of Cesc, and he is someone who would learn under Xavi and Iniesta.
Cesc could as well, but it wouldn't be worth the 40 million+ Euros we'll need to pay in order to sign him.
p.s. the newest whiney words from wenger are that english league lost something because of their defensive play...others are: the referees are bad, ferguson is bad,etc (can't here this crying baby anymore...but that's surely not the reason hy wenger won only 1-0 vs bolton or has nothing to do with the first places in the league...
...i totally agree with you about cesc,kluivertsboots...but moutinhos price seems also to be too high for him...he never really showed something big...at portugal or at sporting in the cl...so my opinion is when to buy expensive bring essien otherwise hold keita, toure, busquets and invest in silva, ribery or aguero...the position wich is not the strongest soon with henry getting older...but like i said...think our board will make the right decisions...ONE LOVE!!!
To the realist the other user was obviously referring to Man Utd not Arsenal.
