Ajax striker Suarez closely monitored

Madrid sports tabloid As claims that Barcelona is closely following Ajax forward and Uruguay international Luis Suárez (21).

Barcelona would have been keeping an eye on Suárez for a while now and in the last weeks Barcelona has intensified the operation by sending scouts to watch Suárez in several Dutch league games.

The scouting reports would be positive for the striker and confirm that he has the necessary qualities to strenghten Barcelona's forward line. With the Spanish league only allowing to line-up three non-European Union players, the fact that he doesn't have a EU-passport could nevertheless count against Suárez.

The tabloid claims that the good relationships between Ajax and Barcelona would make it easier to find an agreement. The transfer fee could be around 12 million euro°. Ajax bought Súarez in the summer of 2007, paying 8 million euro to Dutch club Groningen.

Súarez, who can play both in the centre and on the wings, would be willing to move to a better competition and the fact that his parents-in-law live in Barcelona could be an added reason for him to choose for joining Barcelona.

i have seen a few matches of ajax and i think he is very good
excellent dribbling and playmaking abilities actully plays as an attacking midfielder and can be a good backup for xavi or could be a good replacement for gudjhonsen.his playing style is similar to sneijder

Please no Sneijder... But I don't think you can compare them, this is more of a goalgetter type, not the playmaking type as Sneijder.
