Hernanes waiting for Barcelona

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that São Paulo midfielder Hernanes (23) will continue until next summer with Brazilian first division club São Paulo, that wants to compete for the Copa Libertadores in the first half of the coming year.

With the Brazilian player already having rejected several offers because he only wants to leave for a European top club, Brazilian player's agency Traffic, that represents Hernanes, hopes to restart the negotiations with Barcelona in the summer of 2009 after a transfer of Hernanes to Barcelona failed during the past summer transfer window (read more here).

i hope they do NOT make this transfer. he was horrendous at the olympics, didnt seem useful at all.

I guess its him or Fabregas for next summer. I would pick Fabregas any day of the week but his transfer fee seems to be a bit hefty.

Hernanes seems a more realistic option for barca. the price tag is lower than cesc.

plus hernanes seems to have very impressive shooting. powerful and accurate from quite long range. that could prove an asset if we meet say.. manchester utd again. that would be helpful if the opponent chickens out and plays defense again.

Could be an excellent replacement for Gudjohnsen. If he has a good work rate then we still get that strength in attack but he looks better technically.

I still see us one winger short, that is until Hleb look good rotating on both wings and Iniesta plays permanently on the left wing. At that point we could either get a Hernanes to rotate in midfield or we could buy a winger and move Iniesta back to the midfield.

...is he left-foot or right-foot?...can't see any weakness in both...
