Busquets wants to renew despite Milan interest

Asked about the rumoured renewal of the contract of Barcelona defensive midfielder Sergio Busquets (20) (read more here), the player's agent Josep Maria Orobitg has said in an interview with Catalan radio station COM Ràdio that he expects a deal can be found soon:

"I'm sure we'll reach an agreement because the player is happy in Barcelona and isn't thinking about an exit. I'm waiting for the Barcelona officials to return from Argentina so we can start talking. If everything develops normally, the renewal could be announced soon.

It's true that three or four clubs have asked for him. One of them is a European top club. But he'll only leave Barcelona if the financial difference between offer and demand is very, very big. I repeat that I'm convinced that he will stay, also because his whole family lives here. The interested clubs are aware that it won't be possible to sign him if everything goes like planned."

Madrid sports tabloid Marca claims that Italian club AC Milan is one of the clubs that have asked the agent for the situation of Busquets, whose contract expires next summer. Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain would meet with Orobitg this week (read more here).

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Valencia, Chelsea, Manchester United and AC Milan have contacted Busquets' agent to ask him about a possible transfer. Busquets nevertheless wishes to renew and the club will offer Busquets a contract extension until 2014, with his salary depending on his performances.

Asked about what would happen if Real Madrid would want to sign him, former Barcelona goalkeeper Carles Busquets, the father of the player, said in an interview with Madrid sports tabloid As that Barcelona is the first option of his son: "You can never say never but Segio is a true culé and his dream since he was a child has always been to play for Barcelona.

Although he's playing well for many years, I didn't see all this coming. I'm very proud, I hope he'll get rewarded for his work. If possible, I give him some advice, but not a lot. He has always been very mature and he has clear ideas about everything. He has worked hard to get there.

I never got the chance to see him as a goalkeeper because he always wanted to score goals! As a child, he was a striker, later on he moved to midfield. In the world of football, it's hard to predict if one will get far or not. He should be aware that he's just starting. He still has a long way to go, but if you work hard, everything is possible."

Barcelona "discovered" this ungrateful person. He was'nt even going to be promoted as it was set he will have to play another season with Barca B, if it was'nt for Pep who gave him a chance and let him shine in 3 or 4 matches no one would have even known who Sergi biscuit is .. and Now is he talking about moves and offers to Ac Milan and above all Real Madrid. Coming from his father who has played for the club and is also training the B Squad ?

Im very dissapointed, the club left a player like Yaya Toure on the bench almost every game for this overrated kid. I would'nt blame Yaya for begging a move to Juve, he was one of the Best players last season and very consistent, yet he gets rewarded by warming the benches.

As we can all read from the agent, if the salary gap is very very wide, nothing would stop him from leavng Barca.. and yet some loud mouth has said all sorts about yaya who is a business. Busquest is meant to be a cule. I just hope this reminds you all that football is a career. I can remember guys here telling me that you can get away with some things if you have achieved a lot with and for the club. What has Biscuit done? I like his football tho. But Compare this two,
1.Yaya would leave because he wants regular football.
2. Busquest (coincidentally the man who denies Yaya regular football) would leave for more money. LOL.. Yaya can have the last laugh IF and IF all these stories are true

what exiit?? are u crazy??

Pep just found this guy and he thinks he is supperstar already he is nobody if pep wouldnt play him he would be playing for many years for B team and at his peak he could play for mid ranked team.
To madrid?? cmoon isnt that ridiciolous why the hell should he make that comparisions. Im mad just because he mentioned smth about madrid. IF this is the way he thinks fans will like him, i must say he completely missed it.
Wierd things are going on these days, selling yaya replacing him with an unproven player who mentions a possible move to madriid for the future( no need to even mention it), i must say fuuck itt.

There's nothing wrong with all this.

SALARY
Now he's on a cheap B-team contract so guess it's normal he wants a serious pay rise. I mean: he's a starter in Barcelona! He just wants to be paid decently and I'm sure Barcelona will offer him what he deserves.

MADRID
It's As who asks his father, it's not like he brought this up. As just wants to disturb Barcelona.

I hope this gives us all reason to love and above all respect those of our heroes who played for shirt despite ridiculous cash interest from the likes on chelsea in the past!!!
do I see Ronnie in my rear view mirror?

Just because he's a cule, it doesn't mean he'll play for free. He's officially still part of the B team, so he get's around 30k€/year. He just wants something he deserves as a starter(and he'll probably still be the lowest paid player in the squad), it's not like he demands 10 million € per year. I don't see what your problem is.

wake up mate. I dont have a problem, thats why u dont see my problem.

I also read last week he is on 576euro/week. So, you tell me and please be realistic how much do u think Barca would offer him? from £450/week?
and how much do u think clubs like Mancity, Juve, Arsenal would offer him? They wont deal with him like a youth product, cos hes not from their Academy. My guess is a minimum of around £8k/week.
Do u think we would offer him that much? not that he doesnt deserve it, but from £450 to £8000.... its not likely....and before having a go at me, I said it before, IF and ONLY IF these stories are true cos I dont believe them all.

It does'nt matter if what is said is likely to happen or not happen, it should have even been said in the first place, especially the RealMadrid part. Yaya who is 10 times better and experienced just wants playing time, he does'nt keep bragging about money. I know he deserves to be paid as a first teamer, but to make such a big deal out of it is ridiculous, and saying if other clubs pay more salary he would consider a move .. This is just beyond me. Some nobody named Sergi Buiscuts shows up over 1 night and causes a complete mess, not only affecting himself and the club, but other players who play in his same position who had to sacrifice their playing time for him. After that they say he is true Cule. Excuze me but Cule my ASS ;)
