International: Messi scores and defeats Caceres

Argentina defeated Uruguay with 2-1 on Saturday.

Barcelona attacker Lionel Messi scored the opening goal in the 6th minute. He got booked and was replaced in the 90th minute. Barcelona central defender Gabriel Milito is still injured.

Barcelona central defender Martín Cáceres played the whole match for Uruguay. He acted as left back defender.



Brazil won against Venezuela with 0-4. Barcelona right back defender Daniel Alves didn't play.

Jamaica defeated Mexico 1-0 on Saturday. Mexican captain Márquez got booked and is suspended for the next game.

The three goup winners and the three runners-up will form one group. The top 3 teams qualify for the 2010 World Cup. The 4th placed team enters a home-and-away playoff with the 5th placed South-American team.

Wow Caceres played as Left Back and Messi played as right wing, so both players went head to head // Sad I missed this match. Pep how did Caceres play ? The narrow scoreline means the defense was alright so I'm assuming he did well.

Cáceres was quite good in the 2nd half (in the 1st it's said that he was OK), only watched the 2nd one.

Great pace, didn't fear challenges and was strong overall, also tried to get forward some times.
Liked his play on the left, good alternative to Abidal and Sylvinho.

What does Leo's undershirt say? I assume he was showing that after his goal?

It says "Te amo papi" which means I love you dad. I'm assuming it's dad anyway.

Messi dedicated his goal to his dad, which he had promised. I think he said something about that it was his first goal for the national team in Argentina.

thats great for leo scoring for his country.oh no i missed this game.its sad i cant watch caceres playing a full game for his countary and going head to head against the king of the park in his club.i knew messi is meciless he wouldn't take a look at caceres. wonderful guys of course.i love them both.
