Arsenal preparing new bid for Toure

British tabloid News of The World claims that Barcelona defensive midfielder and Ivory Coast international Yaya Touré (25) looks like joining English Premier League club Arsenal in January (read more here).

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger would have held talks with Barcelona in the summer and agreed on an 10 million euro° transfer fee. But the clubs were then unable to convince Touré as the English club would not match his Barcelona salary.

The Arsenal board has now agreed to raise the offer of personal terms and a source close the deal is quoted as saying that a winter move is very possible: "It’s now likely that he and the Gunners can resolve the issue."

Madrid sports tabloid Marca claims that Juventus is preparing a 9,5 million euro° bid for Touré (read more here). Turin sports tabloid Tuttosport claims that Manchester City has also joined the race for the Ivorian midfielder.

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona would be willing to take a bid for Touré into consideration if the offered transfer price is high enough.

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola talked with Touré last week after the player stayed away from training with an unclear injury (read more here). Guardiola made clear that the player was an important part of the squad and that he wouldn't accept a January transfer.

just ridiculous. Paying 16m for keita and collecting 10m for toure who is younger and in my opinion better. I only see him leaving in a deal with cesc. Any onther deal is just bad management. He worth at least 25m.

If Pep is saying he is part of plans, would he have also given Arsene Wenger permission to speak to the same player? Is Wenger not practising what he preaches or is our Sep.G thats not sure if he wants the player? One thing is sure, its either of the 2 situations.

News of the World is the print version of what tribalfootball.com used to be....sketchy at best.

Yaya might leave in the summer, but not January. Then again, if Busquets wants to continue to think that he's worth real money without being really tested yet....

Since last season we can miss players who miss out on training with "strange injuries". Great how Guardiola solved that one but this leaves traces...

Not leaving...

Defensive he's the best compared with Busquets and Keita, so he should certainly stay. Keita better leaves if someone should go...

""Barcelona are willing to sell midfielder Yaya Toure in January - for the right price.

Despite his pledges of commitment last week, Sport says Toure could still join brother Kolo at Arsenal during the winter market.

Barca are ready to sell and the ball is in the court of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to make an attractive enough offer""

Am I wrong, or did'nt barca buy Yaya for 10 m euro last summer? Seems very stupid to sell a player whith no profit considering the player actually went from unknown to most people, to beeing amongst the best in i his position. Unless there is some kind of clause involving Cesc I think this is a really bad deal for barca. If the rumor is true that is.

I dont buy any of this mess for one second. Yaya came out and made his position pretty clear, he wants to stay and fight for his position. The News of The World is one of the most unreliable sources of information around. If we were to sell him then I am sure it would be for a hell of a lot more than 10 million euros. He is one of the best holdiing mids in the world. The only way i can see this happening is if we get Cesc or Ade in the deal and even then it wouldnt be till the summer. I will be VERY shocked if he goes anywhere in Jan.
