Spanish sports tabloid As claims that Valencia has rejected a few weeks ago a 30 million euro° bid by Barcelona for Valencia forward and Spanish international David Villa (26). After this refusal, Barcelona has turned to the Adebayor option.
Villa meanwhile would have ordered his agent José Luis Tamargo not to take into consideration offers coming from abroad. The player only wants to leave Valencia for Barcelona or Real Madrid. Valencia informed Villa's agent that they will only start talking if a proposal of at least 40 million euro° arrives.
Villa will travel to Valencia today, together with his agent, to start talking about a pay rise. Former Valencia president Juan Soler promised Villa that his salary of a little 2 million euro net a year would be elevated this summer and that he could leave if that was not the case.

30 million euro should have landed him to me! That seems very reasonable, looks like he'll be staying with Valencia...
I guess Valencia don't really need the money after all. If they think someone's going to offer in excess of 40mil for Villa they clearly have a distorted view of reality.
