Case closed: Modric

Dinamo Zagreb midfielder and Croatian international Luka Modric (22) will not play for Barcelona as of next season, like had been rumoured over the last months (read more here).

Tottenham Hotspur has announced the transfer of Modric on its official website. The statement of the Premier League club reads: "The Club is delighted to announce that it has reached agreement with Dinamo Zagreb for the transfer of Croatian midfielder, Luka Modric. Personal terms have been agreed with the player and he will now undertake a medical and apply for a work permit."

The transfer has meanwhile been confirmed on the official website of Croatian champion Dinamo Zagreb: "On Friday night, all terms of the transfer of Luka Modric to Tottenham have been settled. Tottenham president Daniel Levy came to Zagreb and reached a deal with Dinamo vice president Zdravko Mamic and Modric's agent Zoran Mamic. Modric and his agent flew to London where Luka will be introduced to the fans before the match against Bolton. He'll go through the medical test on Sunday whereupon he'll sign a five-year contract."

Based upon the rumours in England and Croatia, the transfer fee is believed to be somewhere between 20 and 25 million euro°, depending on variables.

Shame on you Txiki! How can you not try to sign such a player? Instead the player signs for a club that will not play in the CL for a couple of years. Discrace.

The price doesn't seem unreasonable. Guess they didn't really want him. Let's hope they have a better option (if Deco leaves).

20m is too much for him. i'm glad barça didn't take part.

I saw him against holland he wasn't any better than sneijder. I hope they find better options, e.g. ribery
jordy

They should have got Ribéry last year, now Bayern won't let him go. And Modric is more a midfield guy (to replace Deco), Ribéry is a winger (can play both sides, so could replace Ronaldinho).
