Aguero could become transfer target

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona could be interested in signing Atlético Madrid forward and Argentinian international Sergio "Kun" Agüero (20) and team him up with his compatriot and close friend Lionel Messi.

Looking at the current transfer market, the player's buyout clause of 60 million euro° doesn't seem unreasonable. On his future, Agüero has until now only stated that he will never join Real Madrid.

Along with messi and bojan, Aguero is one of the hottest young talents going around and he would be outstanding for barca!!! his dribbling ability is incredible and; being a left footer, he could be put on the left meaning we would have two expert dribblers on either side (messi, right, aguero left) i'm all for this transfer and barcelona should definetly go ahead with this.

i would love to see aguero at barca. yes the 'midget' detractors will complain, but if barca can get benzema next summer and aguero as i doubt they will get him in january, we have the right balance of skill and presence up front. play him on the left and he could become pep's ronaldinho, benzema pep's etoo. i realise this is probably closer to fantasy football than real life but it could be possible if we get money from etoo, henry, abidal. these two's massive transfer fees wont be as bad. aguero will cost 50 mil+ and benzema around 40 i would guess, i they can still afford a left back and young GK we have amazing squad. nice to dream!!

get him NOWWWWWWWW

Ihave always been crying to get him.

Yes he is small but he is exactly the type of midfielder that we need...someone who can get past his man, get in the box and either score or set up teammates.

I would love this.

I agree with every sjp's word. Offloading Abidal, Eto'o, Henry and Gudjohnsen would generate some ammount of money and since we have some rest (due to not acquiring left winger or center forward) it may be enough to actually obtain those targets. Attack with Aguero on left, Messi on the right and Benzema in the center looks would be godlike. If some cash remains in Barca's pocket, Manuel Neuer would be a perfect fit as a secondary keeper and future starter.
There would only remain left back position uncovered and I see Manuel Vargas or Clichy filling it perfect.
Although all this may sound as a dream I thing it is likely to happen in case Sandro Rossel reaches presidential spot in Barca's board.

Well.. Imagine these forwards starting an potential CL-final against Liverpool/United/Chelsea.

Agüero - Bojan - Messi

Personally I think they wouldn't stand a chance. The english defences would crush an offence like that. Not worth 60 million for Barca since we already have so many players that are like Agüero. We need more options in the squad.

i like him but i agree with anonymous we don't really need him and his price is by far too high... he's not the target man pep wants and wouldn't do better than eto'o as centre forward... he's not worth more than benzema who i would definetely prefer...

Count me in the "oh, great, another midget with great ball skills" camp. Sorry, but in a CL final, against a Premiership side, say Man U, the likes of Ferdinand would play with them as if they are toys. "This one's cute! Can I keep it?"

And for 60 million Euros??!! I'd rather throw that kind of money at a real centre forward. Imagine what would have happened in the first two Liga matches had there been a legitimate attacking plan B. Aguero would just be more of the same. And who sits when he arrives, unless the plan is to offload a lot of folks, namely Eto'o, Henry, and you probably won't see Iniesta or Hleb much, since Aguero is also durable.

And let's wait to see how Benzema develops. He looked terrible in the International last Wednesday. But he will be erratic, as young players are.

We do need Karim boys! Benzema is the key.

Kxevin - Theres no need to overrate rio ferdinand. Kun would be perfect for barca. He can rip any english defence apart. Wait and see what he does to Liverpool.

Benzema > Aguero
for Barca

Oh, I'm not over-rating Ferdinand at all, barcafan. But I'm just not sure what will make the addition of Aguero make the side any more effective against the "English Wall" than they were last season.

i see your point kxevin, but if you remeber the CL against man u they couldn't handle messi, the only problem was that they had etoo and co in their pockets for the match, messi would of had to score his own through ball!
but imagine if there was the only other player in the world who can get near messi's level on the other wing, i honestly dont see how they would cope with that and stop etoo, xavi etc without completely sacrificing any offensive minded midfielders, which if its 0-0 i dont think they would do.

i agree that 60 is excessive but this summer a transfer of a top player seemed to start at 20-25 mil, next year it will be even worse, especially since man city see money as no object.

i admit i'm biased as aguero is my favourite non-barca player (excluding cesc obviously) so i would love to see him (and cesc!) become barca players, and with messi and a big no 9 - benzema/ade etc - we really could be great again.

For starters Benzema is not a tall striker. He is only 183, Henry is taller and I think Eto'o is too. I would choose a strong number 9 like Adebayor over Agüero every day of the week (because we have like 100 Agüero type players in the squad) and I'm confident Guardiola would do the same.

Signing Agüero would also be a slap in the face to all the youngsters in the club. It would limit the playing time of Bojan (who I think should play on the wing), Gai, Jeffren, Pedro.

I agree with the last anon that we need a tall striker who can be imposing more than anything else. Agreed Aguero is very talented and all that jazz, but then we have lots of talent.. I'm sure everybody would agree upon that.

Let us spend the money wisely and invest in a young, tall striker instead.

DIEGO FROM WERDER WOULD COST ABOUT A THIRD OF WHAT AGUERO WOULD AND HE'S PROBABLY JUST AS GOOD, IF NOT BETTER THAN HIM. DIEGO WOULD HAVE BEEN UNSETTLED BY THE WHOLE NOT BEING ALLOWED TO GO TO THE OLYMPICS THING EVEN THOUGH THEY LET HIM GO AT THE LAST MINUTE. HE'D BE ITCHING TO PROVE HIMSELF ON THE BIG STAGE AND NOW THAT ROBINHO HAS LEFT TO MAN CITY BARCA WOULDN'T HAVE TO BE TOO WORRIED ABOUT HIM WANTING TO LINK UP WITH HIS FORMER TEAMMATE. HE'D BE THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE REPLACEMENT FOR R10 IN MY OPINION :/

Diego is a good player, no doubt. But he is not a winger as was evident during the olympics when he often got to play in the position and didn't do to well. He would replace Xavi/Iniesta in the starting lineup and would definatly add something since he can score.
