Real Madrid president Calderon resigns

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderón has resigned from his post today as a consequence of the voting scandal during last month's general assembly. Calderón was president since the summer of 2006 when he won the elections amidst allegations of fraud.

Real Madrid vice-president Vicente Boluda will take over until the elections that will be held in the summer.

I am so disappointed. This was so much fun. Maybe all Barca fans can vote him back in at the next election. he might even pay us for it.

I guess a 'Congratulations, Real Madrid ' is in order.

Did you read the report on Tevéz and Ribéry wanting to come play for Barcelona by the way?

pep, been missing the cartoons for a while. apparently there is a Marca cartoon portraying Calderón on the phone “Nanín, one more favour, find me 80,000 false fans for the Bernabeu on Sunday.” Unfortunately Calderon resigned or we could have put that one up.

Well, I have high standards for the cartoons (meaning: (1) they should be funny and (2) non-Spanish people should be able to get them), so only the best ones get through the test.

I don't find Marca cartoons on the net. Let me know if you see something.
