Manchester United forward Tevez offered

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Manchester United forward and Argentinian international Carlos Tévez (24) has been offered to Barcelona.

Manchester United have the option to buy Tévez from investment fund Media Sports Investments (MSI) for 33 million euro° this month, but it seems unlikely that the English club is ready to pay the fee.

The entourage of the player is therefore sounding out the market and has indirectly offered te player to several European top clubs, among which Barcelona.

Barcelona would be Tévez' first choice because of the good situation of the club and the chance to play alongside his compatriot Lionel Messi.

The paper also claims that Bayern Munich attacker and French international Franck Ribéry (25) wants to join Barcelona. Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola likes the player whose contract expires in 2011 a lot and the fact that he has a contract with American sportswear supplier Nike, an official sponsor of Barcelona, could make a transfer easier.

WOW Ribery ... coooooollll!!!!

"El Mundo Deportivo" is not "Marca" something can be true here!

It'll be great to sign them both! Tevez is kind of Rooney-type player. He bytes all over the pitch. Well, Ribery is another story. Bayern will ask at least 35-40M, but if Barca offer Hleb+cash we can hope to see him next season at Camp Nou. BTW, selling few players could fill the money gap.

Well this is not very surprising....considering our current form I am sure a lot of players would love to play for us. Tevez we definitely do not need, but Ribery would be a very nice addition to the squad, if he really wants to come then we can get him. He would fit perfectly on the left. Can you imagine Ribery Eto'o and Messi....wow.

Whatever happens this summer though they MUST NOT SELL YAYA. That would be the silliest decision this club could make. However, Man City apparently really want him and if they are willing to throw 120million euros at Kaka who is to say they wont ofeer 60 for Yaya.....could we say no to that???

I think Ribery will cost Barça less than 35-40M, as Nike is his sponsor, Nike will probably invest a part in the transfer (because Bayern is sponsored by Adidas).
The negotiations will be with Nike then about the amount they should invest, but I believe it could be quite a lot, say 10M.
Ribery on the left, Messi on the right, Eto'o in the middle: what a line.
About Tevez, I dont think we need him and Im not very fond of him.

If we can get Ribery and a left back like Evra, I think this team with Pep in charge could be unstoppable.

No to Tevez. He is not good enough to wear Barca colors. No to Ribery, he may be good but we don't need him. Where are all the Catalans to cry out against this threat to Iniesta's spot in the team ?

ribery plz

I have to say I like the fighting spirit of Tevez. A bulldog from the left, I like the idea. Scores easier than Iniesta and can bring more energy than Henry. Ribery could be too good. You can have too many world players. Look at the galacticos. And Ribery will be too expensive anyway.

And Guardiola rotates, kamikaze kontiki, so it's not as he will pick Iniesta's place. Henry also has his games there. And Iniesta is not catalan... ;)

Kamikaze, Iniesta himself is not catalan... He is from Albacete, which is more in the south.
And he can also play in midfield. Ribery would rather be replacing Henry (who has been telling quiet often how 'tierd' he is)

'tired' I meant :)

I think Ribery would be a great asset to our team.
Tevez is not necessary but we could use him to put pressure on Eto'o for renewal.
I do however doubt aswell because of his length.Rather small, and I prefer a center forward who is taller for us.

Ribery would be much better than Henry as left winger. Anyway, Tevez could be great signing. If "tired" Henry leave Barca in the summer there'll be only 2 strikers Eto'o and Bojan. So, I see Tevez as good replacement for Eto'o during African c'ship. Iniesta is versatile player. This season he's playing left wing because there's no other option for that place, except Hleb. Regarding Yaya, if City offer 30M - Barca should accept.

DO you guys ask why MAN U avnt signed Tevez.. its cos its gonna cost them £32MIL.. I would add some and fight to get Ibra...

I don't get this ! So we keep buying players who everyone agrees we don't need and then shift around the players who are performing exceptionally to accommodate the newcomers. Do u guys want this club to become Los Galacticos Part 2 ?

How much more productive do u think Ribery is gonna be ? More goals n assists than what Henry has done so far? Henry says he is tired that only makes it easier for us next season. We dont need another striker, Henry can sub for Eto'o n Iniesta play LF. How many players do we have altogether for the LF n LM positions : Gudjohnsen, Keita, Busquets, Hleb, Iniesta, Henry, Pedro. But thats not enough, lets get Ribery n Tevez too.

And frankly in so far as I have seen Guardiola seems to prefer Iniesta in the left wing position which seems quite reasonable. If u shift Iniesta to LM that means he has to track back, defend and in attack act more as an extra man rather than a creator of goals unless we very drastically change the way we play. If we do that and use Iniesta as the LM in a fashion totally unlike what Pep has done so far that would mean increased pointless passing around in midfield without anyone to create space and provide a threat to the defense.

The way to make the left flank more effective is to provide support by means of a left-back not by crowding more creative players into a small space.

NO to both of them. We don't need either of them, not to mention that they'd likely disrupt the dressing room. Promote some B players like Gai and Thiago instead.

We want Benzema... no Tevez.... no Ribery... Want a big n a tall centre forward like Benzema who can cover for Eto'o n gradually take the place for himself... Tevez is having a really baad season... he isn't starting any of the matches n in the last game agnst Wigan, he missed an easy 1 on 1 chance... n about Ribery, i would prefer to have Iniesta to rule the left flank...
Guys... why waste money on a position when we have many players when we can get good players in positions tat need strengthening; like left back... Zhirkov or Lahm foe the left back position n our Barca dream team is complete!

Anonymous said...

NO to both of them from me, too. Ribery is overrated. Look at his goals and assists. Not good enough for barca. Furthermore he would be too expensive. that money could be invested in aguero who will surely become fifa world player one day.

henry is better than ribery. this year he definetly arrived at barca. he's scoring important goals and he can replace eto'o. ribery cannot!

tevez is on the bench. berbatov took his place and how many people said NO to berba last summer?

we need aguero or benzema or diego from werder bremen. a left back, too. and that's it. if barca is going to invest a notable value so get a world class striker like aguero or benzema.

ribery and tevez are good but that's not enough for us.

The equation for new players needs to be easy.

One out = One in.

In this case:

Ribery = Henry.

A younger and better new player. Simple.

And this does not need to disturb Iniesta. In a season with around 60matches, he surley will play many mathces.

Iniesta is not real catalan but played in La Masia since he was 12 years.
So he is almost origenel.

But, gud, all these rumors.

Let me see first titles this summer, before thinking så hard about next season.

I agree with kamikaze kontiki. I dont like having good players sitting on the bench. I think we need only 3 more players. 1.left back (lahm - becouse he can also play on the right side) 2.goalkepper (asenjo) (offload jorquera) 3.striker (benzema(he can also play on the left side,polyvalent)/aguero- in. henry-out)

Instinct said...

NO TO BOTH OF THEM,
Two more player we don't need to spend money on and that will complicate field time matters with players we do have that already don't play enough who are great...Like Bojan. Plus we can call up our talent from the B squad like Gai and Thiago, no unecessary purchases. We already have a new Dream Team.

Buy Zhirkov as a replacement for Sylvinho if no one wants to offer him a new contract. Selling Toure would also be a mistake in my opinion.

And if a new player is to be purchased up front go with Aguero

i remember jose pekerman, the coach for argentina, playing tevez on the left-hand side up top in their group final against the netherlands in the 2006 world cup and him getting the "man of the match" award. i've liked tevez ever since he played for boca juniors and was the top scorer in the olympics 4 years back when they won the gold then. he's an ogre on the pitch and i'd actually be curious to see him team up w/his compa messi...

but 33 million euros IS a lotta lira :^/ m.s.i. is whack.

i don't think iniesta's place would be in jeopardy though as he's way better than keita or busquets (or dudjonsen for that matter) in the midfield and toure and xavi have their spots in the line-up locked down.

I'm confused with the whole situation with tevez. did man utd buy him or is he on loan from west ham?

Anonymous said...

he can not score a goal. not good enough for barça. give bojan a chance when eto'o is to the african cup! ribery on the otherhand is a world class player

Anonymous said...

Come on guys let's be realistic. Ribery is needed on the left. I hope we still keep Henry but have him as an impact player like Larson execpt on the left. Ribery has pace, skill, class and loves to play attacking football that fits into the Barca philosophy. Teves I agree we don't need and Kun would be a better option. Sorry Kamikazi I disagree with you on Ribery. He is much better than Silva and at 25 has at least 5-6 years of career defining football ahead of him. He is worth the money and Nike can help make it happen.

Anonymous said...

wouldn't say no to tevez, he's hard working, quick, and would fit in perfectly at barca! a quiker alternative to henry on the left?? as we do actually play the top three forwards as strikers.

kamikaze kontiki said...

I d say he is hard-working and thats about it !
