Any word on why he is being benched, pep? or can we attribute it to his statements favouring a return to Barca next season ?

There was a rumour that he ot injured during the warming-up, but that hasn't yet been confirmed.

I'm sure they don't blame blame him for saying that. He said it before, and it's normal: every player would prefer Barcelona over Leverkusen... But it could be that, now that Barcelona doesn't want to loan him out for a second year, the coach will prefer a guy that will still be the next year.

Anyway, his substitute caused the Borussia goal, so he could change his mind.

The thing is if Leverkusen plays better then Munich has another contender to deal with. If Bayern miss the Champion's league somehow, it makes it that much more likely that Ribery could be sold.

Ironically they also loaned Kroos to Leverkusen, what if his play (however unlikely) helped Leverkusen push Munich out of the Champion's league?
