great video, kobe is the striker we want hehe,
too bad he still thinks ronaldinho is still at barca hehehe
ha ha... :) nice one skanjos... :)
Nica Kobe;) if you love Barca then Barca fans loves you:).
kobe has been a barca fan for a while and barca has had good relations. pau and marc gasol are barca old boys no? Kobe even made a joke that he was waiting for the barca president to make him an offer to play basketball for barca when his current lakers contract expires.
Kobe loves being over there because he lived in France. When he lived there, he as been told he would go to Barcelona, because he loves the people, town, atmosphere, and culture. There has been long talks of him going over to Russia or Greece to play basketball, along with Lebron James. Of course, this is all speculation.
He has been quoted saying every since the summer Olympics that he always follows Barcelona, but still lives and breaths basketball, and he would love to bring his talent to organization like Barcelona, however is heart still belongs to the city of LA.
To sum it up...this seems like another David Beckham like story.
Just trying to get a superstar over the pond, to spark up the league that is having trouble getting ratings.
Only difference is Kobe is still in his prime and right now best player in NBA!
P.S. All over in the NY TIMES around the Summer Olympics...there was big article saying how much Kobe wanted to meet Messi and Messi wanted to meet Kobe. They went to each of their games and even few of them went out to dinner.
Kobe is a shooting guard not a point guard... ust letting you know
Kobe's dad was a well known coach in Italy and Kobe lived there as a kid. He grew up playing soccer and was an AC Milan kid for a bit before he switched to basketball. He knows Italian and Spanish (because of his wife). There was a story a while back about how he and Gasol communicated in Spanish on the court so that the opposing teams couldn't understand.
For all of Lebron's pretensions about being a "global icon", Kobe's probably the most popular player in the world in part because of his tours of Europe, the time he gives to international press, and his well known love of futbol. At the Olympics, everybody went ape over him and he, being the attention ***** he is, ate it up.
Supposedly he got into Barcelona because of Ronny but even after he left, he stayed with the team. Now his favorite is Messi. He got a signed jersey from Leo after one of the Olympic games and was at the stands for every Argentina game he could make. The guy is great for soccer in the US.
How awesome would Kobe be as a target man though? A 6'6 center forward who can leap through the roof. Just tell him to get into the box and have Alves start pumping in crosses.
i'm from los angeles and i like barcelona...why don't they ask me to do a photo shoot? :^/
Changed that, Anony, thanks!
