Ribery and Lahm approached by Begiristain

German sports weekly paper Sport Bild unconfirmedly claims that Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain travelled to Munich at the beginning of this month to speak with two Bayern Munich players.

Begiristain would have sounded out Bayern Munich wing attacker and French international Franck Ribéry (25) and Bayern Munich full back defender and German international Philipp Lahm (25) about
a possible transfer to Barcelona in the summer.

Those meetings would be the reason why both players have started pressuring their club over the past days about buying quality players so the team can compete for the Champions League. Ribéry and Lahm, who would cost 35 and 25 million euro° respectively, would try to force their way out.

Asked about the issue, Bayern Munich officials would have said to the paper that they haven't received any formal offer yet while Lahm nor his entourage denied having met with Begiristain.

we should definitely buy Ribery at that price even on debt. but we should know when his contract expire to estimate it better as I think he is worth around 60 70m US dollars. and a transfer like that means we got just another player to get in the summer and most likely selling Henry. and we have to solve Eto'o situation as we won't have enough funds to buy Benzema. one thing I don't understand is why we totally ignoring Lavezzi. he will cost half of that amount and allready great in Serie A which is closer in quality to La Liga

It doesn't seem very likely that both of them would be allowed to leave Bayern Munich at the same time, but you never know.

Would be two awesome captures, but if I could only choose one.. who would I pick? Tough decision, brilliant players - both of them.. but I would probably take Lahm, don't crucify me!

Image that! Then our right side attack could actually compete with our impressive left wing attack. (not that henry and abidal are doing that bad though now ;)
Would be great, but I don't see Bayern letting both of them go. I think it will be easier to get Lahm. Let's see...

May the FORCE be with you, Txiki!

I agree with you guys, Bayern will not sell them both. Anyway 35+25=60M. That would be very expensive for Barca.

I like this story very much. Both are already 25 though which is not a big concern. If man city moves for henry with 15 million pounds we may be able to offset the cost a little. Not sure though that this will come to fruition. Even if it does it will be very complicated and possibly very messy.

If these are the two signings we are looking at then hooorrrrraaaaayyyyyyy. They would be the perfect additions but now reality kicks in. As mentioned it is highly unlikely Bayern will let both go. Secondly one expects that one off the two new signings will be Asenjo hence if I had to choose b/w Ribery and Lahm I would want Ribery but for the good of the team Lahm would be what we really need. Guys it's 43c here in Melbourne!!! I fried an egg outside before just using the sun's heat!!
