Messi returns to Sporting list

Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola has earlier today announced the list of 18 players for the fifth game of the Champions League group stage against Sporting Wednesday evening at 8:45 pm.

The list:
Valdés, Pinto,
Alves, Piqué, Márquez, Cáceres, Sylvinho,
Xavi, Gudjohnsen, Busquets, Keita, Víctor Sánchez,
Messi, Eto'o, Bojan, Henry, Hleb, Pedro

Messi and Márquez return to the list, while Puyol and Touré are rested. Jorquera is as third goalkeeper again not included. Milito, Abidal and Iniesta are not available because of injuries.

is he obliged to anounce his list by now, because I see it a bit strange move from Pep,
Poyol is out.. so I assume Sylvinho is going to take on the LB again! or he's going to give Caceres a chance on that spot?
given that Sporting will be playing at home this is not going to be an easy game for our defence anyhow.

The announcement is indeed strangely soon, Waleed.

The only reason I can think of is that there's no training in Barcelona tomorrow (in the morning they fly to Lisbon) and so no after-training press conference. Guess this was the last opportunity for him to give the list to the press in Barcelona (although it can be perfectly done through the website).

If we lose this game we might lose the first place too and that means more difficult opponent in the next stage so we have to be extra careful...
