Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Olympique Lyon has put a price tag on Olympique Lyon forward and French international Karim Benzema (20).
For a transfer fee between 45 and 50 million euro°, the French champions would be ready to sit around the table and negotiate a transfer next summer.
With Barcelona being one of the most interested clubs, Lyon didn't yet receive any formal offer for the French striker.

His current form is great (comparing with this year's EC). The price is very high, without a doubt. I think the most realistic price should be around 40M (but still too high).
As first, Barca should secure Eto'o extension and solve Bojan's "problem". In the other words, Barca should extend contracts for bunch of their players to secure a team for the next few seasons.
The battle for Benzema will be tight. Except FCB, Milan and RM are contenders, so I wonder who'll win.
Benzema is overvalued by Aulas. If they find someone willing to pay it, good luck. Some say that Alves was overvalued at 32 million, but if you look at what he does, he in effect plays both ways, offense and defense. At 15 million each, it's a bargain.
Benzema might be great, he's already good. Can he get better? In Ligue 1, who the hell knows how good someone is? It's a second-tier league.
Next people will be saying that we should sign Aguero. Oh. Wait. They already are.
Good point Kxevin, before Barça pays such a sum for a third (fourth actually, if you count Henry) centre-forward, the board must trigger Agüero's release clause for that money. Imagine Kun on the left and Messi on the right - add Eto'o in the centre and it would be almost unfair to opponents.
i dont get why kxevin dont want aguero in our team,he would fit in perfectly ,not that his transfer is more possible that benzema's,lyon are asking way to much,no we are not galacticos we wont buy every overpriced player out there,
the team is doing fine ,we have huge talents in the youth teams,and we can find other great players without having to pay 50mill for them.
we got eto and ronnie with 20-30mill why should we give more for benzema?benzema is the next promising best striker out there,but we have the best now and we can wait a few years before we splash the cash for a another....

I prefer Aguero to! With him and Messi on the flangs and eto in center our atack will be "ooouuu eeeeee" + eto is not allways playing in center, for few minutes he can chage position with Aguero, then Aguero with Messi, then Eto'o can go on the left and Aguero on right, they will change all the game, like eto'o and henry are doing now . They will not play all tha match in the same standart position. Eto' can play for another 2 season on his best level, then will came bojan. So why we need Benzema if we got so good Eto'o. Just sell Henry and replace him with Aguero, and then we will have very, very good players in all positions...
