Asked about the new rumours linking Zenit Saint Petersburg forward and Russian international Andrei Arshavin (27) with a move to Barcelona (read more here), the player's agent Dennis Lachter has said in an interview with Catalan radio station COM Ràdio that Barcelona hasn't yet called him:
"We have already several proposals on the table but no Barcelona official has contacted me until this day. Arshavin has already declared that he wants to leave Zenit. The team that wants him just has to make us an offer and then we can start negotiating.
At this moment Barcelona is playing great, so you should ask Guardiola, Txiki or Laporta if they're interested in Andrei. Tell Guardiola that he calls me or that they give me the number of Guardiola, Txiki or Laporta. Time will tell what can happen."
Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that, despite the club not planning any transfers this winter (read more here), Barcelona could consider to make a bid for Arshavin if Zenit would seriously drop the asking price. Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola, who likes the Russian player, has been following Arshavin closely over the last months.

Was this the same agent that said he didnt want arshavin to go to barca because he did not know how good a coach guardiola would be? and that he wanted to work with wenger or ramos?
if we can get him for 15m euros or less we should buy him, otherwise no need.
Actually i'd rather stick with gai, pedro jeffren and the rest of the youngsters rather than take arshavin. Dont get me wrong, I was a supporter of us getting arshavin at first, but right now i think at his age and for the money they are asking, we would be better off giving the youngsters a chance.
For about 13M a would go,more than that not!He is a very good player and i think that he would fit into our team!If you don't remember this year we also buy hleb and keita for that money even more and they are not younger!And he is also more versatily player,he can play at left,right wing and atacking midfielder and like we now he couldn't play in champions league so he would play more in la liga and we could rest iniesta,messi,xavi for champions;)but like i said not more than 13M!
Dan R has it right: if we can get this little devil for 15m euros or less we should jump on it. he's an excellent player, would complement our system very well. he's a left winger who's clever and penetrative with good vision. people talk about Gai, but Gai is 17. get Arshavin for a decent price and let him stay on until Gai matures. oh.... and as an added bonus i've heard reports that Real Madrid are looking into him.

He's a true cule. Click the Arshavin tag under this post and go to the first posts about him a few months ago. You'll see him with a Barça shirt when he was a younger and last year on holiday with a Barcelona shorts. Would be crazy if he now joined Madrid (although I think he's not the player they need anyway).
Although he's also no real winger, he's an absolute quality player and he'll be motivated as hell. Although I think another player should have to leave then (keita or henry) cause the squad becomes too big.
Barca will not sign him and is just driving up the price for RM as they are desperate to get some help. Like most of you, I find it very funny that RM is in the position they are in. Especially that they will over pay for whoever they bring in.
