hope guardiola doesnt rotate too much again...klinsmann is doin exactly the same thing with bayern munich since then ther are goin under like a sinking ship...we are lucky that we have strong indivisual players like messi, xavi that have enough guts to finish the game...imo if guardiola is planing to rotate the till the end of the season barca will not get far!!! like i said befor best example "Bayern Munich"

Such an important game. We have a two-week break now, would be incredible to start that with another win. Come on, Barça!!!

Guardiola doesn't exclude he will in the end stop (such drastic) rotations.

Personally I also think it would be wise to work towards a more or less fixed team. But if it works like this, he shouldn't change it.

@pep
yes if it works!! but especialy in the defence we are still not solid enough (too many mistakes). if a defender play a very solid game he i think he should be on first 11 in the next game...if he dont play he will loose a bit of confident he had in that very solid game he played...i`m from germany and i always watch the bundesliga...bayern munich are no longer thesame since they rotating

It is just annoying me that "some other team" play in CL a day before us and have their Liga game a day after!! so that they get 2 extra days of rest more than we do.
is that also decided by the draw that put them to play the teams that we've played the week before???
concerning the match I'm feeling very relaxed today "and don't ask me why coz i dont have an explanation myself!!"
good luck for tonight guys and good buy for now

Confirmed starting eleven:

Valdés
Puyol, Piqué, Márquez, Abidal Xavi, Busquets, Gudjohnsen
Messi, Eto'o, Iniesta

Bench: Pinto, Cáceres, Bojan, Henry, Sylvinho, Touré, Keita

Out: Jorquera and Pedro
Injured: Alves

Haven't heard anything about an Alves injury, unless he picked up a knock in practice. It must be said that his recent form hasn't really earned him an automatic spot in the starting side, as much as his price tag has.

He was beginning to find the range on free kicks, though. His attacking exploits clearly create a window that Guardiola wants closed against the attacking might of Atletico.

official.
valdes
poyol-Marquez-Pique-Abedal
Xavi-Sergio-Gudi
Messi-Eto'o-Iniesta

well, now I started get worried

Muscle problems for Alves. Could explain the unusual move of Guardiola not to announce any list. Training sessions on Friday and earlier today were behind closed doors.

Atletico's eleven has also been announced:

Coupet

Perea, Heitinga, Ujfalusi, Antonio López

Luis García, Raul García, Assunçao, Maxi Rodríguez

Agüero, Sinama Pongolle

Alves has problems at his quadriceps, which should be the muscles on the front of the thigh. If there's a doctor in the room, feel free to correct that.

Anonymous said...

It can have an advantage too, I'm sure the whole team will be sharp as hell now. Visca'l Barca!!!

You're correct about the location, Pep. That does explain the closed-door practice. So Puyol at right back, with the formidable task of corralling Aguero.

I like that they're missing Simao and Forlan. Really, only Banega is the sub talent.

Coupet is a formidable keeper. If Domenech isn't such a putz by playing Barthez, France is defending World Cup champion.

I hope we do man-marking on Aquero, that will destabilize then and there's not really someone who can pick up his role. Those midfield guys aren't really playmakers.

Nobody predicted this eleven, by the way...

Dan R said...

who would have guessed he would put up sergi and gudi and no Keita, Toure, or Henry?

The man is crazy!

but there's a wise saying:
"The difference between insanity and genius is measured only by success"

right on that!

once again Ramzi was right, on resting Alves against Shakhtar..hope Messi and Xavi servive the risk of such an injury..

I can't belive this

Forca Barca!!!+!

if barca continues like this we will beat Real SUCKER madrid for sure!!!+!

Ujfalusi got the first yellow for dissent. Messi has to come out now. This game is done. Finish off, don't concede and take a nicely earned break.

Eto'o's goal was staggering. Two flaws: Busquets' giveaway for the Maxi goal, and Messi HAS to score that goal. He did everything right up to that point. It would have made for one of the most perfect halves of football in anybody's memory. He's still man of the match, and that's only playing about (I would guess) 55 minutes or so.

Anonymous said...

GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLLLAAAAZZZZOOOOO!!!!

WHAT A GOAL HENRY!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Well then Ujfalusi should have been out.
If he got the first card, after the third goal and then another at 51' min., also for mouthing, giving Barca an indirect freekick in the box.
I don't understand.

Anonymous said...

no he only got 1 card. Cards:

Maxi "9
A. Lopez "32
Heitinga "33
Ujfalusi "52

My fellow barca fans......LETS CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that we were able to perform like that against a team like atletico should speak volumes about how well the team is doing. And the starting XI was not one would term our best XI, great game by busquets except for the mix up that caused the goal. Great game for everyone. Lets see Real Madrid replicate that performance against atletico.

Anonymous said...

Please be quiet, no arguing, and celebrate this win guys! It was amazing!

The control in the midfield was simply amazing, Atletico got smashed by the phenomenon Busquets, the loyal tireless worker Gudjohson, and the genius Xavi. Amazing.

Busquets should be called up for the national team before the end of the year, it is amazing the amount of talent La Masia can churn out.

Anonymous said...

Amazing!!!
Everything was so perfect expect that little mistake that caused a goal but we should forget that now and just celebrate like guys mention it.
Cheers guys!!!

This is perfection!!!
I think this was Leo's best performance. if he decides to play and make his team mates better..the boy wonder is just unstoppable.
i was very happy to see Henry score and celebrate with Samu

Dan R said...

well that was a nice display.

what i was most pleased of was the defense... Abidal played absolutely PERFECT!
Attacking and defending non-stop!
Pique Puyol and Marquez did magnificent holding Aguero,

Busquets did very well most of the time although there were few errors (One which cost us a goal) as if he has too much confidence, but in the second half he totally dominated the midfield.

Hell, even gudi had goodi game!
Im starting to think he might actually be useful!

Good co-operation between Henry and Bojan, although i was anxious to see the later in action i wasn't really pleased with his performance, but what the heck he is only 18.

All the others shouldn't be mentioned as they keep going at it every week and every game (I'm talking 'bout Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Eto'o).

Now lets not get our heads over it and hope Atletico will recover in time to kick some madridista ASS!
